Looks like the media (Q105) are picking up what Spike said over here. I wonder if Spike was told to talk about a possible tour to get the press going and see what the interest is.

Anybody know who Cat Watts @catshawl is? In response to doug - Although I take that with even a LARGER grain of salt if possible...like Empire State Bldg. For me at this point if Queen is going to tour it will be with AL. For whatever reason they won't go with B&R fronting the band (I still think they could  ). The interesting addition was forthcoming news after the Olympics? A few possibilities: a. Someone (Possibly even Doug) got confused and is confusing a Queen tour with a We Will Rock You (the Queen musical) Arena Tour? They announced about a month ago that there would be a worldwide We Will Rock You Arena tour and named some dates for that. No American dates were announced. PERHAPS that is what Doug was even on about .... b. Queen + Jessie J world tour! No. I'm kidding there. With the one article stating it would be Queen + Jessie J at the Olympics...But no I can't believe that. They wouldn't be setting up for anything like that. c. Queen + Paul Rodgers reunite? - This has a slim possibiliy - I'd say 10%. There was speculation pre AL that PR would sing with Queen at the Olympics from quotes from PR and RT that both said they'd be open to performing together again. THere's a chance that Queen feels rejuvinated and has talked with Paul and if Adam was busy with Trespassing they'd decide to go out with Paul again. I think this is highly unlikely as well but more likely than B.  Honestly as sad as it might be to think...I'm starting to think that A. is the real deal...and I could see why Doug or whomever would mistake it for a Queen tour. |

But the audio hasn't been merged yet...probably next week. The files, as they are now, are pretty damn good, tho'. I actually did a DVD from those raw files before it was uploaded as a torrent to QueenZone. |

Here are my thoughts for what it is worth. I am so vested in a US QueenAL concert/tour that I go up and down like a yo-yo with all the innuendos, suppositions, bubble bursting etc. I decided I would go with the simply reality that when the London concerts closed, Adam's choice of words was this was over FOR NOW. No way he would use those words (and they have been repeated) if more concerts were off the table. I want it all and I want it now but I realize it will probably be 2013 rather than late this fall as I had hoped. I really don't think we are going to be let down on this unless some very unforeseen and bizarre circumstances arise. I am saving my money! Oh I'm not saying don't hope and don't believe or don't save money I'm just offering possible alternative explanations. I'd rather know the truth of the matter myself  Hopefully I'm wrong! Another possibility was another round of the Queen Extravaganza touring. *shrug* LOTS of possibilities that we probably won't get the answer to for a LONG time... |

The show wasn't 2 hours for the entire season when they had 4 last time. And Nigel wasn't there. Ken Wawrick apparently had time management problems! It was hard to fill the 2 hours last season, 4 judges would work, especially if they actually do judging. Here's what I find interesting: On SYTYCD, the judges yak away ad nauseum for as long as they want = they seem to have AS MUCH TIME AS THEY NEED to say as much as they want. On Idol, the judges comments always seem so incredibly brief, like "Honey that was beautiful" or "Just a little pitchy dawg..." and that's it for comments. I mean, how is it even possible for these two shows to be so different when it comes to judging? ??? Weeellllll, when this AI judge stuff was all erupting a few weeks ago, Nigel was quoted as saying something like "there is more to critique in dancing than in singing" or some such remark. I posted on Atop about it being really ignorant. So maybe he really just thinks that it is not possible to fill time actually discussing the performances. Maybe the just-defunct panel of judges convinced him of that because they were not capable of such a discussion. Sad. |

If I'm not mistaken, The Voice UK had two hosts last season - one male, one female. ETA - I just checked and they did have two hosts, Reggie Yates and Holly Willoughby. Judges were Tom Jones, Will i am, Jessie J and Danny O'Donoghue. I don't care if AFL were judge or mentor - whichever has more face time and pays more. That would be the judge's job. Jimmy is the official "mentor" and he pulls in other artists, for guest mentoring spots, throughout the season. Last season, Jimmy brought in Mary J. Blige, will i am, Diddy, Stevie Nicks, Akon and Gwen Stefani as guest mentors. I'm not sure they were even paid for their guest spots. I sure hope Adam is in consideration for something more than a mentoring job. :( I hope he is up for more than mentoring too, but we haven't heard his name much anymore. So mentoring would be better than nothing, I guess. At least a little visibility. :-/ |
