I think that Adam + Pharrell + Mariah + Brad P. could be the best Idol judging panel ever. 3 really intelligent judges + Mariah. And Adam will be the best dressed judge ever. (Not much competition for that title.) But the show has been surprisingly fashion-free for 12 years. There was a single planned for September back in May, and more singles were planned. In May RCA specifically used the phrase "more singles" when they released NCOE. BUT I think the choice may have changed because of Idol. IF Adam and Pharrell are both judges -- as currently rumored -- Trespassing would certainly seem to be the single choice. ---- On the other big news, hair color -- I love the new hair but is it silver/dark or is it platinum/dark?It's gray/dark. ;D so - are we pulling this 4 judges thing out of thin air or what? And is Pharrell definitely confirmed a judge? Or Brad for that matter? I get scared that we are into so much wishful thinking that we have convinced ourselves that all of this is fact and Adam is in. And we really know nothing concrete. Right? Are we setting ourselves up for a huge disappointment? Like every other weird thing Adam has said/done/worn, we "OH NO!" then let it settle before we say, "Okay, what's next?" From the aqua board shorts to long hair and poncho to Melvin to Frankengump hair, we always manage to have fun with it then move on. If he IS chosen, we can chorus, "I KNEW it," and if not, we can mumble, "Stupid people at AI." That rollercoaster gif is not a coincidence, it is a staple of our fandom..... especially since we haven't had a "gate" in such a long time. |

I have given up being worried about being disappointed. I have decided that I will be fine either way but it looks like it will be Idol.
Pharrell and Brad are not confirmed.
Perhaps they are hiring 8 judges -- a rotating panel of some sort. Who knows but thankfully speculating will be over soon.
Finally, when it comes to being disappointed, we will be disappointed if we secretly think it is happening and he doesn't get it, or if we have fun speculating that he has it and he doesn't get it.
And if it is not Idol, perhaps he got a recurring role on a TV show. I guess we will see soon enough.

That's exactly what I say, Q3! If he doesn't get it and I am a naysayer, I would still be disappointed. But the fun of speculating and putting all the obvious ;D clues together is priceless! And, it is almost Sept and he is damn excited so there is something on the horizon! Maybe we should make a list of what would be bigger than Idol that could be happening in Sept?! :-/ ???   OK, I got nothin! It's gotta be Idol! |

Well, the Voice will have eight judges now, what with the addition of Michael Buble, Billie Joe Armstrong, etc. There can apparently never be too many judges - or singing competition shows.
About Nick Jonas, I understand that his brother Joe is a judge on the new talent show on the CW.
(Rapper Nelly is also a judge.)
