Finally seeing The Who in NBC broadcast. Daltrey sounds excellent. He's singing Townshend's parts. So maybe Townsend's voice hasn't aged well. Ok, only cuz of my OCD, Daltrey, Townshend, and Jessie, not Daltry, Townsend, and Jesse! Too lazy to look up before! But I know THIS place won't smack me down like if I wrote "Freddy" on some places. ;D

Hope this is okay to post here (please delete if inappropriate). Found in on AO. A collection of non-Adam fan reactions to Adam not singing with Queen. www.twitlonger.com/show/iqfidf

Is this OK as well? Review that called it Jessie-centric that I found while checking spelling! blog.sfgate.com/olympics/2012/08/12/the-who-spice-girls-not-enough-to-save-a-jessie-j-centric-closing-olympics-ceremony/Last line cracks me up. Of course! Duran Duran performing Rio to pass the baton to next hosts! I'm glad that didn't occur to me. I would have convinced myself it would happen. After reading this article, I'm thinking of a lot of missed opportunities. Wonder if they had trouble getting acts on board? Perhaps some bands worried they would be viewed as novelty or part of British musical history associated with past eras, like British New Wave? Not a problem with legends, like Queen or the Who, of course, but I can see how some acts would bristle. ETA: I know I've really spammed this thread today, but it also explains in the posted article that Kate Bush, indeed, was no show. That bums me out. MyS*&@^#r, make sure to catch Ray Davies (Kinks) doing Waterloo Sunset. They cut it out of NBC broadcast and it really was lovely.

Haven't watched the whole ceremonmy yet, DVRing it so I can FF thru some parts, but my NBC complaint.... they cut away to a commercial just as the US athletes started coming in the stadium! :dunno: So far, my favorite part is "Imagine"

www.twitlonger.com/show/iqfidfa couple of tweet: " FMCV_Official: Jessie J does in 5 minutes what the IRA could never do. Kill Queen."
"missprofanity I just woke from a nightmare. Jessie J was on stage with Brian May, murdering a Queen classic. Thank God it was only a dream. What?" Frankly speaking, I have to agree with....

I never was big Queen fan. I know the songs and I enjoyed the music but that was it. Now is different story....Adam make Queen more magnetic ,exciting and fresh again. After Adam I can't enjoyed others singes perform with Queen. Is something like to wear shoes that do not match. I think Adam is the only one for them (at the moment ) and I think they do know that to...He is the Golden Child for them with the powerful voice. I like Jesse. She is great singer .... Thank you guys for awesome time. love you all

What's interesting about these tweets is that I think most of them are from Brits. Went through about 5 of them, all from the UK.
