I think it is not that Mariah has technically this much say, but rather that the reality is that Mariah dominates every environment she is in and needs the room to shine. Once they hired her it was clear that any person had to be able to walk the fine line of getting along with her without competing, but yet needed to be able to make their own voice heard in a way that works with her personality. I said a while back....if Adam gets this, it will not be easy to work with her. She is difficult in all kinds of ways or has at least presented herself that way on many occurrences. I think, Adam's diplomacy will get all kinds of work-out, if it happens. Once Fox (or whatever that company is that owns idol now) put down those first 18 million, they made their bed. Now they are fitting in the rest of the pieces and I hope that NJ is not one of them. So, while Mariah has officially probably little say, in reality, I do believe that somebody could be out because of her. wow ...she sounds like a monster or something....so, what is her appeal? impressive boobs? So what you are saying is that she will be good for idol because she is used to having the weight of the world on her shoulders.

Pretty soon there won't be anything on TV but reality talent shows. I'm so sick of them ,I can't even watch SYTYCD which was one of my very favorite shows. If Adam doesn't get the Idol GIG ,I think i will finally go back to reading. This is me. I have always loved SYTYCD, but, I have it recorded for tonight and don't want to watch it. So tired of that format and all the crud one has to sit thru between performances. And tired of putting thru some performers who are clearly less talented and prepared in order to have the right composition of contestants to appeal to the demographic. IF Adam gets Idol I will watch his parts but fast forward thru most everything else, cuz I am not interested in pseudo-talent but actually popularity contests. Bah Humbug!

My husband, coming from the film industry perspective, believes there is no way that Mariah would have power of decision regarding idol. He feels producers would never give up that power.

Perhaps I said in so many words....I would not want to work with her.... lol Alright then: Why don't you form your own opinion: Here she is on HomeShoppingNetwork, selling earings, etc...but mostly selling Mariah. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Am7fOLdZL2sBut.....she can sang, is known in all of pop music for her range and can certainly compete with Adam in that department (even without whistle register). Whether you like her vocals is a whole different story. Mariah is Mariah, there is no other way to put it. But monster she is certainly not - difficult, yes.

Yes she's a diva and she definitely wants all the attention goes to her. If Adam gets the job, he may not intentionally want to compete with her, but Adam has a very charm personality and he can take some of that attention from her .. so she may not like it ..

I still am not getting the Nick Jonas as judge concept. Fans didn't jump on it. The media was meh. And the Jonas' are all very 2007. The FOX execs will look at the audience they want to attract and the chemistry. Nick and Adam are very different, from fanbase to genre to style. The only thing they have in common is they are white men. I expect to see Mariah and guys -- one who is a producer/industry person, and 1 or 2 performers. I do not think that Mariah gets a say but she is a very gay-friendly artist. So if she does have a say, that could be a plus for Adam's favor. I think the media was more than "meh!" I think they were kind of harsh, like "Hell no, Idol! Don't do this!" Kevin Jonas, Nick's older brother, has a reality series premiering Sunday on E. It is produced by Ryan Seacrest's production company. It is being marketed as the next "Keeping Up with the Kardashians". This will be good cross promotion if the show hits. Nick will be featured on the brother's show per my 15 yr old daughter.

Nica, she is one of the biggest Pop diva icons of all time. She has/had an amazing voice! She is up there with Whitney and Celine, voice wise. I would be very surprised if you don't know this song. Plus, she not only sings, but she writes most of her songs. The video won't embed for me. But here's the link. Try it, I think you might like it. youtu.be/0IA3ZvCkRkQ

They did it so well. I am amazed at their response. LOL at the trespassing bananas, what are they Boomeranas ;D Have you guys seen the whole song somewhere or just that partial, a few pages back? :-/ Linda, it is STOMP, CLAP (short pause) CLAP CLAP CLAP No just the partial. As for clapping, I am thinking 1-STOMP , 2-CLAP, 1-HANDS OPEN & FORWARD (a la Queen), 2-CLAP, 3-CLAP. So quarter note, quarter note, quarter note, eighth note, eighth note.
