soaked - Is that what he said? "More than a promo tour" and "special"? I can't recall - I think my memory is fading in my old age. Or else there's just too many details swimming around in Adam fandom. And I am NOT gelly! lol

Gosh the sound on the Mezamashi live clips is pants Sounds like what Adam was talking about recently(?) where they feed the vocals directly to the TV instead of mixing them first. Really?! I thought it sounded great! The audio someone recorded at the show was great. I've always hated TV audio. It did sound kinda weird

Re Idol: at first I wanted Adam to get the Idol gig so badly because I hoped it would help him a lot when releasing new singles (yes I expected at least 4 singles from this album). I found that the conventional promo formats like one-time TV appearances and radio concerts didn't work that well. Idol gave me hope as it was different from them. But if Adam got the idol gig, the next single should be released at the end of this year at the earlest 'cos idol won't be aired till next year. Now the next single is to be released soon instead of the end of the year, I think the idol gig doesn't quite help with this single anymore. So I become lukewarm about idol. It's good if he has it, it's OK it he doesn't. I would be super excited if the promo for the new single is really special and can drive huge sales and be embraced by the radio. That's what I am after. I like the idea of PLL, but one PLL is not enough to promote the next single. We still don't know what else the label is going to do Now it sounds as if the Oz trip is very short, only 4 days, which doesn't sound as " more than a promo tour" and as " special" as Adam promised in June. Adam has to rush back to the US at the end of Aug, and we have no clue what it's for ?????
My theory has been that this fall season, they will try to make up for what they missed in spring – a strong TV push. They had one week when all the spring concerts were taking place when he could have done a lot of TV as is tradition with an album drop. They gambled and opted for radio concerts instead of TV appearances and well, we know how that turned out. Radio balked and there are still a lot of the general public who have no idea he even released an album last spring. So ... how to fix it? During fall season, do the reverse. If he has another single to release, he can do the talk show circuit he did not do in May. ONE of the things that would be awesome about Idol is that the judges do the PR rounds. In fall, it would be just about the announcement and new cast, but as a regular on the No. 1-rated TV show, he could get any talk show placement – AND then he could sing and promote new single as well.  This is why, though Idol won't debut until January, I still thought it could help a LOT in the short-term. And still think musical packaging/tie-ins w Fox would be an inspired idea as well. It has been eight months since Ellen and Jay and they always seem eager to have him back. The cool thing about IF he got Idol, he'd get to chat w/Jay and not just sing. :D :D

What you're sayin makes PERFECT sense to me!!

From my earlier post:
Just using it to say - I'm on board with the last few posts questioning the brevity of the AU trip & the skipping of NZ entirely. WHY???
I suppose we'll find out .........soon!

And I am NOT gelly! lol He said so in a June interview here, at around 2:40 I said last night that it would make perfect sense that now is a good time to make the Asia/Autralia promo tour. After Japan, Adam can go to Singapore, New Zealand then Oz. I speculated it was the original plan, that's why in the interiew, Adam said he would visit Oz in 3-4 months (which is Sept-Oct from June). Now it looks to me as if something is coming along that doesn't allow Adam to visit Singapore and NZ, he even has to push the Oz trip up to August and squeeze it in 4 days, unable to make it "more than a promo tour, an special" as he promised before.

Could any of this have to do with Queen? If AI is out of the question, this would be my next jump to assumption.
