She doesn't even need to open her mouth. Her appearance alone---there's no telling what she will be wearing or what color her hair will be---will leave Mariah in the dust. She is very young and fresh, Mariah is going to look stale next to her. That's why I think if NM gets it, Idol will not need Adam on the panel. She will represent the fresh, young, edgy, what-will-she-do-next judge. If they get RM, that would cover the gay and Latino factor. I hope I'm wrong. :-/ Idol is not getting Ricky Martin -- he is under contract to NBC/Universal for a new primetime series. >> Of course, I can't figure out how NM can solve the Pepsi problem. But IF NM is on Idol, Coke and Pepsi both have brand issues.

seoulmate!!! So good to see you and is it even possible he looks even more gorgeous than ever before?? Definitely watch that interview vid early in the thread! OMG his hair ... it's, it's ... I still haven't given up on Idol as a possibility. Sooo many unanswered questions still. Actually, I think the idea of Nicki Minaj bodes well for him. They would need a Diva Wrangler First Class and he is one of the few people who could banter with Nicki while schmoozing Mariah and make the whole process fun. And he wouldn't be overshadowed by the BOOBS From Hell. And I don't get people saying Adam is too OTT for middle America. Actually Adam, as an extremely articulate, informed, well-mannered person who would be nothing but respectful to the contestants, the process and the other cast members, would come across as the most chill, I think. He might wear a crazy outfit or two but NOTHING like Nicki – not even in the same stratosphere. (BTW, Neon Trees was on GMA yesterday and the outfit the lead singer Tyler had on was crazier than anything Adam has ever worn in public. ) Enrique's tour schedule is very full but he could be young/Latino. My hunch is that they won't do both country and Enrique, just a feeling. I still think Adam brings a ton to the table in that he'd be pop/rock dude, hip, fun, articulate, former contestant, vocally trained, less expensive (they will have spend A LOT to get MC and NM) and they gay element can't be ignored either. It's something Idol has been under fire for. And Adam's success only goes to substantiate Idol. If AI can give him the little shove of exposure he needs right now, it can be pivotal for him and mutually beneficial to them. Having two Stars in 12 years does not bode well for the brand. By the way, Nicki's Pepsi contract (which I do think is a major liability for her – more from Pepsi than from Coke) is reportedly for $24 million. The exposure is great, but Idol will have to pay large for her IF they can get around any non-compete clause she might have in her Pepsi contract. On the big point, how can Idol work out the issues with Pepsi and Coke? It would be really difficult and why would Pepsi or Coke agree? But the $24 million figure is too high. Nicki's contract with Pepsi is a 7-figure deal -- not an 8-figure deal. "CEO Derek Jackson revealed that he helped broker the deal the Queens-bred rapper and Pepsi cut just before YMCMB honcho Lil Wayne took to the stage at SXSW. .......Jackson didn't give exact numbers but confirmed that the signing is a seven-figure deal, mirroring Wayne's Dew venture." hiphopwired.com/2012/03/19/nicki-minaj-scores-multi-million-dollar-pepsi-contract/

Shoshanna is heading to LA in September, right? Could this be for anyone other than Adam? I know she works with Britney, and X-Factor debuts that month, but I don't think she is Britney's US person. This has to be something substantial, doesn't it? Totally agree, mys*&@^#r, don't like the beginning of this Naked Love. Sounds way more current and fun the "old way." Usher and Bieber are her clients too. Or maybe she's going to help Adam with the launch of his 3rd single. Eep, no. Bieber is most definitely not a client of Shosh's. Usher, yes. Oh Land (and one or two others) probably the least well known of Shosh's clients – they handle some big names: www.outside-org.co.uk/outside-edge/Adam Britney Jennifer Lopez John Legend Lenny Kravitz Little Nikki Ludacris Mutya Keisha Siobhan ?? NKOTBSB Oh Land Shakira Usher ETA: Ah, thanks Q3. I got it from someone who was researching it, but didn't track her info back.

1) I am still listening here right now: soundcloud.com/pokan_sejin/18082012ss. Don't want to reload my screen, just in case it actually was deleted. At least I can listen to it once. 2) It is strange, the background singers started out really well in the concert, but their singing went downhill about mid-way through. I can see two reasons. Obviously, sound problems could be the reason, but otherwise, they also seem winded. Actually, I believe only one of them is flat, but of course that throws the sound off for everyone. They started out so well, the difference is astounding. Wish they could get a grip on that problem. 3) Love the band. Glad to read that some here stepped in already, so not going to rehash. Just want to add that Adam's music needs well played background instrumentation. As compared to for example Queen music, where every instrument can be a lead instrument at certain times and the overall sound is a blending of different musical instruments to a complete polyphonic sound. He does not have a band problem, he does have a background vocal problem though. And my suspicion is that at least one of the two is not at the level needed for what Adam is trying to do. Just my impression. Sorry. 3) Back to idol: Is it possible that idol negotiated with NM management and they got to beginning of August and only once the lawyers got involved to get the contract finalized, did they realize 'oh shit' we have a Coke - Pepsi size problem? If that happened, then they would be idiots on both side to go that far without checking sponsorship agreements, but it would explain why we have such a long delay between MC announcement and the rest getting sorted out. Perhaps the Shirley Halperin article was more about making this dilemma public, because now that the NM tour is already cancelled and the delay for AI judges announcement is inevitable, they are forced to back-paddle and regroup on tons of levels. What that means for Adam - I have no idea anymore. I think his prospects are slim, but still existing, everything else has been said.

This is so weird - I still hate the gray hair with a passion - but today Adam looks the most beautiful and glowing and radiant that I have ever seen him. Wut dat all about? :dunno: guess I'm Cuckoo... : ;D and I'm still holding onto the tiniest little hope for Idol.
