She's everywhere in the States. I would never have heard of her if it wasn't for Adam. I personally don't find her that talented, but I have never been impressed by country singing. Just doesn't seem like you need much range. IMO, her looks and innocent image have helped her a lot. You should listen to Carrie. She's got a massive vocal range and is one of the best live singers I've ever heard. Adam is one of the most talented artists in music, not just Idol and all the things you named that make him the best Idol contestant in your opinion are what make him one of the best overall regardless of Idol.

While Shady is amazing, it's too complicated. I don't like it very much live Me neither. So far I only prefer TP and OOL live Even though Shady is my favorite song on the album, so far the live versions haven't quite gelled for me. I think it will get there eventually. On the other hand, PTL sounds absolutely amazing live, even better than the recorded version, it really cooks.

Sorry to interrrupt the AI discussion's flow... re Adam Lambert Artiste De La Semaine Sagittarius, Belle, AleksandraKv, 4Msrmyn, Betty, you're welcome, guys! Is this magazine popular there? I think so, and according to it's letterhead, it is for young readers. I also agree that because of his amazing fashion sense and great voice, Adam should do better in France, people just have to hear and read about him. Every day I scrutiny any mention of him in my newspaper (I have no life, really! )and for sure I'll post everything related to Adam I would find. Here one little anecdote: for historical reasons my country's culture is linked to French culture, so anything popular there will follow the same path here [except Justin Bieber, whenever I mention his name all I got are laughs and flipping hair, never understood why?!?] So, 2 of our most popular local radio (they both have the trendy-er Malagasy teens aka teens who have relatives living in Europe, mainly in France, as listeners ) used to play BTIKM and Time for miracles. My kids (from 18yo to 10yo) both have differents musical interest, from K-pop to Birdy, but they have one thing in common: they ALL know who Adam Lambert is. So do some of their classmates. And they go to French school. My point is, as quasi-totality of our foreign cultural references come from France, and many young Malagasy know about him, Adam might be not so well known in France, but he's definitely not a total stranger. One or two concerts there will be very well received... Cheers!

While Shady is amazing, it's too complicated. I don't like it very much live I agree that Shady is one of the few songs I prefer on the CD more than live, but that doesn't matter to the radio which is the goal because the CD version is what they play. I am firmly on team Shady as the breakout single.

I think that if Adam were to be on Idol with NM people would come to see Adam as the sane caring man that we know him to be because he would bring his own class and honesty to the table. He would be the one keeping his head while all around are losing theirs. I think if Adam was on Idol with anyone he would come across as an intelligent, kind and charming man because that is what he is. This is one of the reason Idol would have been so great for him because it would have give him a chance to show the world what an extraordinary person he is. I fear that many still view him as the guy that flipped the bird on the AMAs. Adam loves music. He is so generous promoting other artists' music because he is such a fan himself. He never seems to be jealous of what others accomplish, and just keeps working hard to reach his own dreams. I truly believe he works at living in the now and appreciating all the success he has received. He will genuinely be supportive of the contestants and give them the critique and advice they will need to succeed. We know what a remarkable person he is, but it would be nice if others could know this, too.

I think Carrie is at the stage that radio will play anything she puts out, even if it is mediocre. Country consumers are also very loyal. I noticed her albums don't get universal rave reviews (her career metatcritic score for 3 albums is 65) but she still sells tons of records. I had also read some user reviews that her last album (or certain songs from her album) was not really country but they are buying it anyway. Yep. Carrie is country's "golden girl" and radio will play - and people will buy - whatever crap she may put out - doesn't matter. : However, I do think she has worked really, really hard since she won Idol - right place at the right time, so good for her. Really? Are her songs played a lot on the US radio ? on Country music radio stations, I guess, not Top40 or HAC?

You know what , guys ?? I'll be REALLY REALLY happy when the AI speculation is over , and when the new single is announce , because right all of our heads are running with thought , and I think that some of us can't take the drama anymore . For the single , My fave on the album is SHADY and I have a great feeling about it . For AI , if he gets it , great , if he doesn't , doesn't even matter . He'll be good with , or without it . I just want this speculation to be over , because I feel like I could explode any moment .

I refuse to put Adam into any particular category, he is unique and he will find unique opportunities for his talent and charisma. If it's not selling millions of U.S. pop cds so be it.. He's one of a kind, and he will attract people who love his voice. I so appreciate the fans with the positive and joyful attitudes..Thank you.. you keep me keeping on

Eh, two of the three albums reviewed have better scores than Trespassing. I'm not a Carrie fan, but I also don't put much stock in metacritic scores. She released her last album a couple of weeks before Trespassing and Carrie's album is still in the BB Top 20. Pretty good for a country album. Yes, but remember Adam's score was an 80 until a homophobic church reviewer downgraded him and most of the UK reviews were crap. The critic that has a lot of weight is Rolling Stone and they gave her a 50 and Adam an 80. Also, Carrie doesn't have to deal with the gay issue, like Adam did with EW and the church reviewer. Adam's first album also got a 71 which is higher than two of her albums. His career score is still higher although he only has two albums. Also, my point didn't have anything to do with sales. I already said that. She sells no matter what. My point is that her albums don't get rave reviews from critics but she sells them anyway.Because metacritic doesn't really mean anything! Music lovers don't base their buying habits on a metacritic score. Most albums receive some wacky scores that bring their average way down. Carrie had a TWENTY from Popmatters on her lowest rated album. That brought all the other scores down, just like what happened with the UK reviews of TSP. It happens, but in the long run these scores don't account for much. One of Carrie's albums got a 70 and one got a 72. That doesn't make the one that got ONE POINT less than FYE any more significant than the one that got ONE POINT more. If metacritic was really accurate at determining the quality of albums, it would mean that FYE was a better album than TSP and that one of Carries albums and two of the three were better than TSP. That alone tells me something about metacritic, IYKWIM.

Whatever Adam does at this point will kick ass. Am I the only one that could care less whether Adam gets Idol? If it is his dream and he wants it more than anything I will truly feel sad for his loss and disappointment but there is such vast potential for Adam in other options as well that I simply cannnot be sad. Adam is busting with such mad talent. If AI doesn't happen, something far more interesting will. I love Shady severely. Would be so psyched for that to be the next single : ) Really love the message of TP. ^^^what she said^^^
