The doom and gloom if he's not in will last for a day or two but the buthurt if he is in will last for years and years LMAO THIS IS SO TRUE!!! LOL! But this why I HATE American Idol. I HATE the lame fandom thing. People take it waaaaaaaaaaaay too seriously. There is this intense butthurt among fans of other Idols and we all know which other Idols every time something positive happens with Adam and especially if it has anything to do with Idol. The melt down from those certain fanbases is almost nuclear. I don't understand it. I could care less if something good or bad happens to any of the other people from that TV show. I don't even know who most of them are. I totally get where you are coming from. It reminds me of professional sports. Have you been to a pro football game? Grown men dressing up, weeping openly or throwing punches all for the sake of their team. But, you know, at the end of the day it was all sort of fun! Some of these guys live and breathe their team, watching the draft picks, keeping stats, collecting autographs, adorning their family room walls with paraphernalia. Kind of like some adam fans...... and American Idol fans too it seems.

Just the opposite- being a judge on Idol would HELP and in no way HURT! How could exposure on TV two times a week to 15-20 million viewers "hurt" Adam? It certainly didn't hurt Jlo or Steven, or the judges on The Voice, for that matter. What it did was make some of them household names or put some of them back in the spotlight. IF Adam gets the job, it will not be a GUARANTEE of anything! However, it will get Adam's face and his articulate, charismatic self back into the public eye in a way that no other option available to him could do at this point. It will then be up to him to make the best of this golden opportunity, and I am 100% confident in Adam's ability to spin gold from it! I think it hurt Xtina & Tyler. Not so much JLo because she was never taken seriously in as a singer anyway.. Tyler lost a lot of cred amongst his fan base. He lost some in my eyes too. They start to lose credibility as singers and become TV personalities. I don't think Xtina will ever recover her singing career fully. Levine saves himself because he is part of a band. Xtina had her flop before she became judge. Levine's music blew up after. Tyler's fans are all about cred and he hadn't made any music I heard since his daughter was in that movie. Adam came about because of a TV show and he's always embraced it. #itsnotgoodnews

I am sorry, but some facts do not agree with what you "feel": 'American Idol' Boosts Aerosmith Sales Sales up more than 250 percent since Steven Tyler joined judges' panel.
In fact, according to Nielsen SoundScan, since the launch of the new season of "Idol" on January 19, the sales of Aerosmith's greatest-hits collections have gone up by more than 250 percent. Among the biggest gainers: 1994's Big Ones (up 260 percent after the debut week) and 2006's Devil's Got a New Disguise: The Very Best of Aerosmith (up 146 percent after week two). According to The Hollywood Reporter, two other greatest-hits compilations have spiked by 137 percent and 147 percent.
Before the show premiered with Tyler taking his seat alongside fellow new judge Jennifer Lopez and returning veteran Randy Jackson, sales of the Aerosmith catalog were waning, moving less than 1,000 copies a week. So while the bump up to sales of more than 2,000 copies per album is impressive, it's still modest compared to such perennial catalog giants as Bob Marley & the Wailers' Legend, which was also up nearly 100 percent last week on sales of more than 7,000.

Adam came about because of a TV show and he's always embraced it. #itsnotgoodnews #itsgreatnews ;D 3 years after season 8, Adam is still being introduced as "the finalist of American Idol". If he cannot get rid of the connection, why not use it? To quote some ancient wisdom also found in a Queen song, "If you can't beat them, join them!"

Going from 1,000 units to 2,000 units does not make for super sales and it hurt his "legend" status (which is priceless). But I guess that's just how I "feel" and my "opinion"
