OMG guys, I really don't know what my life is right now. I thought my trip to Russia etc was pretty bsc, but honest to God, this last week has been fuckin INSANE!!!!!!!
It is really hard to explain what went down a few days ago, but let me tell you I was spinnin, spinnin, spinnin.
It was just 22 hours - including a 3.5 hour flight and 5 hours of sleep - from the time I found out I actually had a ticket to the Take40 concert to when I physically arrived in Sydney. I nevah want to go through a day like that evah again - but it was sooooooooo....worth it!!!
It started in London when we first heard about the Sydney concert.
Vecadam asked me if I was going to go and, believe it or not, I said no. At the time I was really, really, really over flights, lines, security, customs, check ins etc. I was exhausted, jet-lagged and coming down with the flu and only half way through the journey - so yup, I said no. I also didn't want to be greedy. I was in the middle of this epic adventure and was getting to see Adam six times in amazing venues and countries around the world. I knew tickets would be hard to get with only 300 being available and I didn't want to take away one from another Kiwi who hadn't had the opportunities to see Adam like I had.
Anyways, fast forward to when I got home and it was only then that I realised how many fellow #NZGlitterTribe members were going and that a few more were desperate for tickets, but unable to get them. It was then that I realised that I really wanted to go. Not just to see Adam, but to be with my fellow Kiwis in this amazing adventure. The NZGlitterTribe (hereafter known as the NZGT
) are the most fabulous bunch of peeps and fans. Our parties/lunches/events are so much fun and the group is very close. I love em to bits and I wanted to share/experience the concert with them. BUT, as I said above, there were others that couldn't get tickets and were resorting to paying astronomical ebay prices. I was not going to take a ticket away from anyone.
The NZGT have 3 FB pages. One public & 2 private. I HATE FB with the fire of a thousand suns, so I rarely go there, but keep up with them on twitter. I was really excited for everyone going and watched from afar the excitement and despair unfold and slowly I became very despondent that I would not be able to go. I came to terms with it two nights before, sighed and said 'oh well, it's not to be'. So the morning before the concert, I got up, fed the birds, cats and other various life forms that are part of my daily world, made a cup of coffee and jumped onto facebook to wish everybody going a heartfelt 'bon voyage' and 'have a blast guys' post.
And then my world exploded in front of my eyes......
A member had just posted that her friend in OZ had THREE fucking tickets up for grabs. AND, AND, AND.... by this stage there was now only one other Kiwi looking for a ticket.
All hell broke loose as I scrambled to find phone numbers and details. My heart was beating like a jack hammer. My brain was telling me that I was a mental case, that I needed to be institutionalised and that I couldn't possibly organise this in under one day.
Yeah welll..... y'all know how that worked out...lol
I went from flouncing around the house pouting, to fully fledged warp speed in less than five minutes. Runnin, runnin, runnin became the theme of the day. I had to book flights, find out where everyone was staying, book hotel, get cat food, get my nails done :
, pack...yadda, yadda, yadda.
My neighbour was going to feed my cats and take me to airport at 6.00am for 8.00am flight. He arrived at 6.00 and I was still friggin asleep.....aaaaaaarrrrrgh!!!!! Upshot, was that I barely made the plane, which started moving about 3 minutes after I got on. One person was still missing and they got offloaded as I was boarding.
It turned out that the bootiful
eri9 was on the same flight, so some berting took place on the way. Most of he NZGT were arriving in Sydney from all over NZ that morning, so one by one we all arrived and gathered at the airport. The bad news was that
eri9 discovered that her iPhone had disappeared on the plane >:( They searched the plane twice - but it had gone. She was gutted and had to buy another phone at the airport to get by with.
.......... OK going to post this and start typing up another post.
