Matinee LA is a circuit party. Definition from Urban Dictionary: Circuit Party A large, gay dance party, something like a gay version of a rave, but with a gay-oriented music selection (usually pop, progressive house, and tribal). Events are well-promoted, publicized, advertised and organized, are often attended by thousands, can be big charity fundraisers, and are usually expensive to attend.
Since each circuit party occurs on a specific weekend and in a specific city once a year, and there are many parties on "the circuit", travel and planning are required. Travelling from party to party becomes part of a circuit boy's lifestyle of travel, networking and partying.
Some examples of circuit parties: White Party in Palm springs (April), Black Party in New York (March), the Black and Blue Ball in Montreal (October), the Blue Ball in Philadelphia (January).
These are often all-night and multi-day events, and party drugs such as ecstasy, GHB, ketamine and crystal are frequently taken by partygoers.I can't wait to see what Glamberts show up for this--could be wild! Yeah, this is totally not a "Glambert" function. Maybe there is a reason they kept it secret up until almost the last minute  I think this is exactly why they didn't announce this too far in advance. This appearance is geared towards the LGBT community, not the Glamberts. Please let Adam have this night out with the boys. Unless one is male and gay, and from the looks of those pictures also young, you'll stick out like a sore thumb. Not to mention some of the partygoers may resent outsiders intruding on their party and some of them might not be shy in expressing their disapproval. There will be plenty of other opportunities to see Adam. This ain't one of those opportunities for most of his mainstream fans. |

I have questions for our Finnish speakers. On the latest Tutka when Sauli and Katri are talking about the Idol judges, is Sauli looking to the left? At which mark on the video do they talk about it? They talk about the American Idols 6.48 - 7.45. Sauli looking left and right, up and down, so I can not say what point you mean. Thanks to all that answered this but it seems Sauli may be a better actor than Adam. He's not giving anything away. 8-) Back to the angsting and speculating. |

If you think Take 40 was bad - the Guerilla Gig was as bad or worse if possible... I've got a photo from my vantage point that shows just how bad it was (will upload it later). I have no idea how Adam tunes them out, for an artist to look at a sea of faces staring at their camera screens must be super disconcerting. And I don't really get it because it's not like there is ever a shortage of video footage. Ever. On the videos I saw someone filming the Guerilla Gig with their big honkin iPad. That was blocking some views for sure. eta: oops, I see you put up a picture and that one wasn't in the front row like the other I saw. |

My Twitter feed (especially Chunkey) has been sending out some pretty funny tweets about this event on Saturday. Mainly about how some of the Glamberts might fit in at a rave...well, depends on the Glambert! This could be interesting, so say the least.
Also, off topic but good news in sort of a way, I think I found a buyer for my Burning Man ticket. I had planned for the last 8 months to be part of our WOW camp and then two weeks ago with financial stuff and a death in the family I decided I couldn't go--sad! However, it looks like I will be getting some money back on the ticket, so that's good news. And I will also be able to squee with all of you for the week!
Also, it's really dusty at BM this year and there is a forest fire that is sending some smoke their way as well, so please send your good thoughts to our crew out there as it looks preeeeeettyyy hazy from the camera feeds.
