I am hoping that AI learned a lesson with ST about the dangers of hiring someone who is inarticulate even though famous and goes with the guy with the personality to ignite the panel and make the show fun to watch. They already have three big stars and they don't need another. Adam being an alum would give the show an interesting new dimension. If AI was smart they would hire Adam, but I fear they are not always smart. I agree with what mys*&@^#r said upthread that "is Idol going to have a bi-racial judge, an African American judge, a Latin judge and an Aussie??" Yes, Keith is a white-male, but he's Aussie and it's an American Idol. No disrespect to Enrique, but they need an american white male judge, which is Adam. |

Was Enrique born in Spain? If so, I could see them wanting a home grown judge on the panel.

Assuming that Mariah, Nicki, Keith are in, do you think Enrique is able to create chemistry and make the judging panel entertaining? I don't know anything about Enrique, is he articulate, and quick witted like Adam? By the way, I thought he is doing well mainstream. I find his songs played a lot on the radio, they may not reach the top on the radio charts, but relatively high. Considering the demographics of the show, I'm really curious to see how ethnic AI is willing to go. Do you hire the Latin guy with the accent (however understandable he is) or the gay white guy? The gay white guy! Idol has a perception problem with the press of "hiding the gay" on Idol. Ellen doesn't count as she is female. Yes, it makes a big difference with the public! Enrique did a 2 day mentor gig on XF last season and was bad! He is one step above "Duh!" Besides, Adam has had this since end of July!  ETA: Enrique is 37 and was born in Spain. I don't think he'd work for 3-4 million either! |

Update on the question about X Factor contestants: Melanie Amaro, the winner of last year's show, had 17 adds today and 14 of them were on CHR stations. I think Simon is going to try and make sure she has some type of success with this first single, at least. I'm thinking her remix-cover of RESPECT went to #2 or #3 on the dance charts. She is with L.A. Reid at Epic Records. The XF winners are with Sony!  Is Epic part of Sony? Yes, it is. |

If the rumor is right about Nikki Minaj & Keith urban, there's even more reason they will have Adam as the 4th judge. Mariah is a bi-racial, Nikki Minaj is an African American and Keith Urban. There's no way AI will have 3 women and 1 male sitting in judges panel. It always be 2 male + 1 female or 2 male & 2 female. Keith is white male but he is not an American. Adam is perfect for the 4th judge, white male and American. Race politics? Welcome to America |
