It's interesting on that THR article that Shirley put Adam in the same category as Katy Perry, Big Star Power that's UNWILLING to be part of the show. Either Shirley doesn't know who're really on the run or Fox doesn't give her all the information. :-/ I am sure that Shirley does not have all the information but she does have great sources within Idol and Fox, and she often has the scoop. I like seeing Adam on that chart between Katy Perry and Elton John.  Here's my simplistic take on Idol: 1. It makes sense to me that Idol will announce in September -- SH tweeted 9/12/12. >> But 9/12 is a really crowded day -- What is FOX's goal? Maybe to take the wind out of The Voice's premiere -- 9/10/12. X-Factor premiere is 9/12/12 and 9/13/12. Use X-Factor premiere to promote Idol new judges. MY GUESS --- LA unveiling on 9/14/12. Then they have 4 weeks to get the remaining 6 local auditions done. 2. Fox isn't saying anything. 3. Nick Jonas is out -- got a consolation prize. That says to me they are making/have made final decisions. 4. I am setting aside everything except facts (few) and what Adam has said. We know that he said it was still a possibility (The Edge interview). And we know he sounded like he wanted to do in in an interview in Australia. And his schedule is open for about 6 weeks. Shosh asked fans to trend it. (Was that just for laughs? Not her style.) My conclusion: Adam and Idol have talked and it was still a possibility a week ago. 5. Enrique Inglasias is in the mix and is not doing anything in September/early October -- except the Washington State Fair and a Radio concert. 6. Since Nicki is in, Kanye is out. (And all the Kardasians and Ryan Seacrest can't do anything about that.) 7. They have three stars -- they are going for a panel of stars. So no room for Allanis Morresette or Nick Jonas. The fourth judge needs to be male and a star. **** >> I come up with 4 possibilities: - It is Adam vs. Enrique -- they have not decided. - They are working on a deal with Enrique. Adam is the backup. - They are working on a deal with Adam. Enrique is the backup. - Adam and Enrique are both red herrings -- and they have a big surprise. |
