Mys*&@^#r I need your reassurance concerning this one line in the MTV Au article that Gelly posted. "And if it doesn’t work out then maybe something will in the future.” Do you think that maybe in July he thought or was led to believe that the Idol judge thing would happen, but Fox never finalized it and he still hasn't "signed" on. Hope it's just polite Adam speak. I think it's just "Adam speak." Lots of angsting last night and today over the Enrique possibility. As an Idol fan, I would be pissed if the 2 males were non American. IDK, guys! It's just a feeling I have. Don't know what to tell you. I have been right before and I have been wrong before. But if he isn't a judge, I am not going to fall apart over this because Adam will be OK. He will move on. I will move one. It's not the end of the world! Isn't Enrique a US citizen? He moved here when he was 7 and attended school and college here in the states. His longtime girlfriend became an American citizen, I thought he was already one. ? Mariah is a US citizens. Doesn't she "count" as American? :  AI's judging panel for the first nine years didn't have a white male American judge. I don't know why they would have to have one now. I'm still hoping that it will all work out, but I don't think AI is worried about not having a white American male on the panel. |

About Enrique, why are folks talking like he's not American? He's ethnic Latino but American. Maybe people are thinking of his father Julio? Also, Enrique has had huge mainstream hits - Hero years ago, and then he sort of came back recently with the electro stuff, with Pitbull on "I like it" and that other song "I Want to F*ck you" or some other charming name. He actually has a good voice, if you listen to Hero, and was interesting to me as a male pop singer doing an electro song who didn't dance. I have no clue about his personality and can only say that he's very attractive but wears caps and tv shirts. That said, Adam would be a better choice on idol because he would critique: "It's boring" that he said to that one guy when he mentored. He can critique but not be mean-spirited about it. Also. I'd be curious to hear how he critiques voices. Maybe Adam doesn't have anything booked in September because it's not time for a tour and his singles and album didn't do too well. So it's just normal and not alarming, before he regroups for third single promo? Hopefully that means a third music video too. I only recently listened to Is This Love. Beautiful. Can anyone point me to Map and Time for Miracles mp3s? Sorry to ask, but my itunes have crashed and wiped out a bunch of songs and am wary of viruses. Errr , Enrique is from Spain , Europe , he's not american , honey  FYI- people born in other countries can become US citizens. (especially after they have lived here for almost thirty years) It's not that unusual. |

I like Enrique. He's gorgeous, has some great songs, and certainly commands a huge fanbase. BUT the guy was almost useless as a guest judge on Xfactor. Hopefully Idol is reviewing THAT notation on his resumé.
edited/ I was born/raised in Canada. I'm now a US citizen. (trying hard NOT to be offended).

Some websites say Enrique has US Citizenship. They may or may not be correct.
BUT thats all you need to be American. It does not matter where you are born and where your parents are from and where you have lived.
I'm trying hard not to be offended either.
Or just...surprised.

I am pretty sure Enrique is American, as well.
But, I also don't think AI cares about the balance of the panel other than two males, two females.

I'm still trying to figure out when or where it was confirmed that Randy isn't returning as a judge. Is it because of Mariah? Aren't we jumping the gun in assuming they'll have four judges?

Are you pizzled by this conversation? 8-) I think most everyone here is just trying to get into the heads of the deciders at AI, where it is all about ratings and $$$. I hope they consider the abilities of the potential judges instead of all this other "stuff". If so, Adam is a lock. |
