Not that I want to talk about Enrique all day but has there been any reports or response from him that he is even interested in being an idol judge? I asked this yesterday but don't think anyone replied.
Just curious.

Oh, Enrique's mom is Filipino? Ha, that settles it, he's Asian! I honestly said "American" since I thought he lived in Miami. Don't know his citizenship. And there are TONS of folks who are permanent American residents who consider themselves American, even without citizenship. You don't have to be white and born here to be American LOL.
Keith Urban on the other hand, who knows? Aussie always? Now considered American? I'm clueless.
Enjoy the last days of summer, y'all.
Read the very good New Yorker article this week about Scooter Braun. Enlightening. Justin Bieber gets 50 percent of Scooter's 50 percent of Carly Rae Jepsen. She is poised in a big way, and yes, she's "overnight" at age 27. Is it easier because she's a girl, yes, but she still wrote (I think) that song, and I think it's 3 yrs after Canadian Idol. She and Adam and only a few others are working their asses off post reality singing shows.

I think it's just "Adam speak." Lots of angsting last night and today over the Enrique possibility. As an Idol fan, I would be pissed if the 2 males were non American. IDK, guys! It's just a feeling I have. Don't know what to tell you. I have been right before and I have been wrong before. But if he isn't a judge, I am not going to fall apart over this because Adam will be OK. He will move on. I will move one. It's not the end of the world! Isn't Enrique a US citizen? He moved here when he was 7 and attended school and college here in the states. His longtime girlfriend became an American citizen, I thought he was already one. ? Mariah is a US citizens. Doesn't she "count" as American? : AI's judging panel for the first nine years didn't have a white male American judge. I don't know why they would have to have one now. I'm still hoping that it will all work out, but I don't think AI is worried about not having a white American male on the panel. Delurking for a moment to say that Enrique has both nationalities, American and Spanish. He is not popular here in Spain. He is not articulate, not even in his native language (Spanish). He used to be very timid and not talkative. I don´t follow him, so I don´t know if he has changed. I don´t like his voice (I don´t like his father´s either).

Some websites say Enrique has US Citizenship. They may or may not be correct. BUT thats all you need to be American. It does not matter where you are born and where your parents are from and where you have lived. I'm trying hard not to be offended either. Or just...surprised. I did NOT know Enrique was a US citizen , and neither did I know that that was all you needed to become American . And , no I didn't mean to offend anybody !! why would you be offended , anyways ? Anyways , that wasn't my intention . just wanted to say what I knew . turns out I know nothing . Whatever . I think there is a difference between nationality, ethnicity, citizenship, heritage, etc. that has never been quite clear to me. But this article clearly defines the difference between nationality and citizenship. www.differencebetween.net/miscellaneous/difference-between-nationality-and-citizenship/So according to this article, Enrique would have Spanish nationality and American citizenship. As it says, nationality is permanent, citizenship can change. ETA: In his wiki, he is referred to as Spanish. "Enrique Iglesias is a Spanish singer, songwriter and occasional actor, popular in both the Latin market and the Hispanic American market in the United States. He is the son of the famous Spanish singer Julio Iglesias."

I asked this yesterday but don't think anyone replied. Just curious. I want to know this too. And has AI ever reached out to Enrique, anyone? This is all I read about EI from Shirley: If Fox and FremantleMedia execs have their way, this year's panel would consist of Minaj, previously announced judge Mariah Carey, a country star (the leading candidate is Keith Urban, says an insider) and a Latin artist (Enrique Iglesias is believed to be the No. 1 choice).

That's it. Never heard him speak but it seems to be the consensus that Enrique is not articulate. I cannot believe Idol would be so stupid as to hire someone like that.

I'm still trying to figure out when or where is was confirmed that Randy isn't returning as a judge. Is it because of Mariah? Aren't we jumping the gun in assuming they'll have four judges? Lol, it has never been confirmed. But Shirley may have hinted at 4 judges. Adam was quoted to say that he "is waiting to hear"... which means to me that "he is waiting to hear"... which in turn means that there is hope still. (see www.mtv.com.au/news/adam-lambert-american-idol-judging-rumours-ff85a400?xrs=share_twitter ) BTW: we have not heard any word re Minaj or Urban from AI.

Tyler? it is all about audience numbers IMO... they can do/say whatever they want on that panel, as long as they are promoting the producer's party line...it is not about quality...

I think Enrique is major in pop music but that's another story not going to discuss why I believe this. As for being articulate or not I don't know but JLo, Steven Tyler , articulate?? Yea right . "Oh I think you're really good! You nailed it!! I love it! Yea I really like it! Good job good job! The best I've seen in all these years '........
