There was earlier mention of the second runner up of Adam's Idol season singing at the Republican National Convention. Intrigued, I YTed, and and he sang his country hit, Our Best Days are Yet to Come, or something like that. The genre and the theme seemed to fit the convention? Wondering what else the guy was up to, I googled. His last gig was at the Waukesha County Dirty Girls Mud Run. (Metro Milwaukee area) "Contestants walk, climb and crawl their way through a 5K obstacle course that sends women through challenges - with names such as H2OMG water pit - as well as tire obstacles and a wall to the final slog through a mud pit called PMS (pretty muddy stuff), all to raise money for the National Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation (2.5% of registration fees will be donated to the foundation)." [wow, a whopping 2.5%?] Why do I mention this fascinating but totally OT piece of information? To point out that our boy is in the running for the #1 TV show in the US, after just coming back from smash concerts with Queen in Europe. Had we picked another contestant on Idol Season 8, this board could be discussing very different topics. J/S I am very proud of OUR GUY!  BTW, Gokey is having a cruise and the winner from Adam's season will be performing on this cruise.  When Adam starts doing mud runs and cruises with Gokey, I'll start worrying a little. It's pretty good when your "fallback plan" is singing with Queen and doing a tour in several parts of the world.  I always thought the fallback plan was singing on Broadway. |

BTW, Gokey is having a cruise and the winner from Adam's season will be performing on this cruise. When Adam starts doing mud runs and cruises with Gokey, I'll start worrying a little. It's pretty good when your "fallback plan" is singing with Queen and doing a tour in several parts of the world. I always thought the fallback plan was singing on Broadway. I don't see the "alum" thing as a detriment. If anything - it is a feather in their hat... He mentored. Nigel loves Travis on the SYTYCD and they have other alums as choreographers... IMO - it all comes down to demo and advertisers. Nothing else. It does come down to ratings and getting the right demo and amount of viewers they are shooting for. How do you do that? You have a show that people want to watch. Steven should have been highly entertaining, but he was the dullest of dull! Jlo wasn't worth what they were paying her either! Randy is and always has been overpaid and a terrible judge. AI wants and NEEDS personalities on that panel! They need some crazy. some loopy, some drama, some eye candy, some sweetness and some good advisers. They want all this in a package that will retain their old viewers, bring back the ones who have left and get new (younger) viewers. Then, these judges need to have chemistry, because that is when viewers really enjoy watching. Lastly, they need to make sure that these four choices stay within their budget. When you look at all the factors and consider that this is the #1 rated (non-sports) show in the US, this is an important multi-million dollar decision and not one that the producers are taking lightly. A bad decision could cost them millions of dollars!  That's why I'm thinking if Fox picked Enrique as the last judge they made that wrong decisions. If they have Mariah, NM and Keith there and we know how Nikki Minaj can be so crazy.. so they need someone who can quick responding to her and that person is Adam. WHO CAN RESIST to see Adam's laughing and smiling.. and wait until the Idol audience hear Adam's giggling ... |
