Looks like we're one step closer today. Well, at least this wait for news will give me some time to catch up on some videos of Adam from this month. And there are some old favorites I want to revisit.
AleksandraKv, I think you were right the other day and the word in the Husbands video is "chestburster." Watching it again, after you mentioned it, that was all I could hear.

I had another thought on the Enrique/private life issue (if it is a true concern of his and not manufactured) If there are any bi-skeletons in his closet, that could come out with a high profile judge position on Idol. Worth good money for a tongue waggling ex fling. Given the cultural bias with respect to that, he could be cautious about an exposure that might hurt his fine career. That makes perfect sense. Did not think about this one. It's like the Jonny Carson. "I am a private person." And that would mean he would not be interested in this position, because it obviously entails crazy public scrutiny. I believe that every person deserves the right to make their own decision how to structure their life, private as well as public and it is a shame that famous people end up in the cross fire of speculation that means that their naturally preferred boundaries between public and private end up not being the actual ones. Of course Adam had that happen to him on idol, and he decided to rather embrace than fight the situation, but even for him this was not an easy path to navigate both during the show and in the weeks that followed up to the RS magazine article and then again, once perceptions and demands were placed on him from the outside (OUT mag, AMA aftermath, etc). So, remains the question why Enrique did not nip that rumor in the butt straight away instead of letting it go til now? There seems no benefit in it for him? If though what many of us here are suspecting is true, it does mean also that idol had the choice between out and not. Adam being the more current candidate again, I guess. Nip what rumor in the bud? The one about being a judge on Idol or the one about being bi? If it is the latter, Enrique has answered this question many, many times and stated that he is 100% straight. Nicki Minaj is also rumored to be bi, but she has elusive about her answers to the "gay or not" question. Now, the Idol rumor is one that draws attention to an artist and he is on tour with an X-judge. Why not leave it out there?

Why would Idol prefer a Latino rather than a Rock representative?

>> I think it is possible that Adam may get an offer to be an Idol judge but see no evidence that it is a done deal. For me, I will believe it when Adam says it or Kevin Reilly says it. Adam Lambert : "I am still waiting on the green light; I am still being considered as far as I know and it was really lovely to talk with them." I really know nothing about Idol, but does waiting on the green light imply that he has been offered and is waiting for the final confirmation or it only means that Adam has been approached, but the actual offer hasn't been placed? There is also a yellow light, but he said green. j/s.

The WinStar comment makes more sense to me that he was referring to a Dallas area concert that fans could attend, rather than an Idol event where (if he gets a judge spot) he would be on a closed set and fans could not attend. Setting that aside -- I really question the concept that Adam has had an Idol slot since June or July, and it is a secret. The proof for this.... 1. Adam was super happy at Fantasy Springs. 2. The WinStar quote. NOTE: Adam never mentioned IDOL or even hinted it was related to Idol. 3. What else? The other option is that Adam is telling the truth when he Tweeted and told reporters that he doesn't know. That it is a possibility. This makes more sense to me. The proof that Adam is being considered and does not know: 1. It is consistent with all the press rumors. There is not one press rumor that Adam is singed. 2. The press reports were that Adam was in negotiation with Idol in late July. (Around the same time as the WinStar concert.) These rumors were in the UK and appear to have come from Adam's PR people. 3. Adam said in 3 recent interviews and on Twitter -- he does not know yet but it is a possibility. 4. SH is well connected to FOX, Idol and to Nigel -- why would she put Enrique on the list of 4 judges if they had picked Adam? >> I think it is possible that Adam may get an offer to be an Idol judge but see no evidence that it is a done deal. For me, I will believe it when Adam says it or Kevin Reilly says it. I think Adam was honest and told the truth. I guess he was in talks with AI in July. Even though there was no confirmation, he was happy because there was possibility, especially when he saw his promotion plan for the last half of the year mapping around it. He couldn't hide his excitement even though it wasn't confirmed yet. He kept quiet about it at first, but he eventually got tired of the delays and uncertainty, he told the press about the real situation when being asked. I think Adam has said EXACTLY what he has been allowed to say. He has been extremely consistent with that. They gave him talking points and he has stuck to them. And they changed specifically on ONE day. He has stuck to his script because he has no choice. I don't agree with ANY of your logic here, Q3. Like seriously, he was supposed to give a line-item analysis of why he was in a good mood? And WHERE did you get that the original story came from his PR people. Wow! THAT is an accusation with NO basis in fact, in my opinion. And if that was the case, why did they then go into talks with him? And why is it still the one of VERY FEW threads that continues to dangle. Of course we're not going to get confirmation of any of this. That is the game they are playing. AI has been engineering a cat and mouse game with this entire situation. How could anyone not see that? If I for one minute thought a multimillion-dollar entity such as this was in THIS much disarray, I would shutter the show if I was Fox. There is no way in hell they are this random and disorganized. It's all to grab press. When this E! article hit no one even knew that Randy and JLo were definitively out so why would his PR people make up a rumor at that point? www.eonline.com/news/328551/american-idol-shakeup-fox-considering-adam-lambert-as-judge

Adam was in negotiations in July, but I don't believe he had the final go ahead and we still don't know for sure even today. Outside of that one Japanese job/stuff sentence, which we have never heard in its original tone, and therefore cannot fully judge, I don't think that Adam ever had any moments of 'being tired and telling the press the real situation'. He and idol realized that giving his promo circuit the question was unavoidable and it was better to admit that he was in the running, but not aware of any decision, than to pretend nothing was going on. There must have been an ok given from idol in this regard, because Adam's statements shifted slightly between Japan and Australia to reflect such an agreement. In fact, I think he has proven himself again as a representative who can give interviews, say something meaningful and yet not let anything slip. That is not easy to do. He does it brilliantly.
But I am sure it eats away at him inside and he will be glad when this is over.

Still optimistic! However, I do think Adam probably knew about the Dallas concert mid-summer. This isn't just a small in-studio thing. It's at the Verizon Center, right? An arena radio concert. These things are scheduled months ahead of time. They can book the venue but don't have to decide on acts. They often place people at the last minute for radio shows.

Fans are reading too much into everything Adam says or does, when the only thing he has said is that he would like it, is up for it, has been in talks, and is stressed because of the wait. I hope he gets it. There is no reason to assume that he has it and is hiding it. Team I'll Believe It When It's Officially Announced.

I don't think the rumors initiated from Adam's PR people. They were timed too perfectly. Those rumors are what sparked the first big media cycle regarding the AI judging panel and redirected everyone's attention back to the show, setting AI up in the position three days later to announce the departure of Steven and then Jennifer. I think Adam's crew would have to be psychic to orchestrate those events.
