Yeah I agree that this is not going to happen.. . The formula will either be 2males + 1 female or 2 males + 2 females Koshka, I agree with you. That's why I interprete that EW article as there're 2 choices for Fox/producers. If they want to go to the left way, they will take Enrique and if they want to go to totally different way they will choose Adam. That's why disagree with some interpretation that Adam is a back up for Enrique. It's like you said which judges dynamic that Fox/AI producers want to go to. And I think choosing Keith and Enrique to sit on the same table would really be a snooze. They need one energetic personality to balance Keith laid back personality. That's why they need Adam. They need a Simonish authority figure. I don't think that they'd allow either of the women to be that, but then maybe I'm underestimating the women and idol. I've seen Enrique, and he's not the strong personality they need. Urban is closer. Adam is far more so than either guy. I don't believe Adam has been signed or anything, but he's such an obvious choice over Enrique in terms of panel dynamics that I can't help but feel that he's got a strong claim. I wrote this yesterday... I'd guess Keith and Enrique are the same general age, within 5 years of each other. Both are laid back, but Keith has a more sort of mature presence and ease about him. I hate country music, but felt he had a warm confidence in his interviews. Enrique didn't look entirely comfortable. Does anyone know if English is his second language? Not for his accent, but for his slight hesitation when speaking. Just curious.

Cassie..I also would kill to hear Adam's version of Bring him home. When my mother was ill, I used to drive from my home to hers almost every weekend...the drive took 2 hours and 10 minutes..just long enough to listen to the soundtrack of Les Mis....I did that both ways as a rule [tho confess I sometimes listened to Miss Saigon or The Phantom or Evita]. I would love your opinion on why I find this version so much more moving than the one you posted...even though I agree his voice is almost perfection...in fact, perhaps that is why I prefer this... still, I would truly love to hear what Adam would do with this.... Interesting to play the two versions back to back. Boe has a brighter, lighter tone more focused in his mask, or the front of his face. In that way, he is like Adam. Wilkinson has a darker, more "classically" big tenor tone, with more chest sound and focused further back in his mouth. But, for this song, he delivers much of it in a very, very delicate head voice without any chest resonance. You can hear a big difference between that sound and when he powers it up at the climax with a full voice. Can't tell you why you prefer one over the other, but, I like Wilkinson's better because: 1. The greater "heft" in his voice fits better for an old man --- which is who is singing the song in the play. 2. Abandoning that heft and singing much of the song in that delicate, almost not there head voice brings a poignant intimacy and vulnerability to the song. Here is this strong, tough old man in quiet, solitary prayer to God in the middle of the night. We feel we are eavesdropping on a most private and tender moment. Would be very interesting to hear what Adam would do with it. I would love to hear Adam sing this, too. Although I think he is a bit young for it, I think he would sound heavenly. I had the good fortune to see Colm Wilkinson perform this in Les Mis on Broadway. I'd never heard the song before that day. I literally sat there and sobbed when he was finished. I'd never heard anyone sing so beautifully and with such emotion, ever. I still cry when I hear him sing it. I think my heart would burst if I ever heard Adam sing it.

I have a strange idea to throw into the whole judges mix. Not only is FOX trying to finalize the judges for Idol, but they have 2 open X-Factor celebrity slots to file. They have announced two of the 4 celebrity mentors -- Nick Jonas (working with Demi Lovato) and Justin Bieber (working with L.A. Reid). tv.broadwayworld.com/article/Justin-Bieber-Set-to-Mentor-on-FOXs-THE-X-FACTOR-20120828 They have to announce these 2 remaining mentors before the show starts on 9/12/12. I think it is one more reason they will hold the Idol announcement until X-Factor premieres. >> We also know from Nick Jonas' selection that this is somewhat connected to the FOX Idol judge search. >> Britney has the 17 - 24 year old singers -- and no mentor yet. Simon has the Groups and not mentor yet.

glampoon... Dunno if you'll be able to watch this where you are but on last year's UK X Factor a guy did this... I think Adam would love performing this.

Not for his accent, but for his slight hesitation when speaking. Just curious. He moved to Miami, Florida when he was 7 years old and attended American schools -- English is not his native language, but he is a fluent English speaker. If you watch his Spanish language interviews, he does that same pause thing. ETA: I think The Voice has proven that 4 equal celebrity judges work. And by work, I mean result in viewers. Last year, Idol averaged 7.8 million viewers 18-49, The Voice averaged 7.2 million viewer 18-49. The Voice is headed up, Idol is headed down -- and Fox will do whatever it can to keep Idol #1 and maintain the $500K ad rate for a 30 second spot.

I'd like to hear Adam do Bridge Over Troubled Water - one of my all time, forever favorites. Aretha did a cover that was really good. Tried to embed the Central Park concert version, but failed miserably twice. If you don't know it (is that possible? :-)) check it on utube

Poof - all memory of anyone else (except Art, maybe) gone like the mist. Lots of great music would be non grata if you follow that "someone else sang it" rule. :-/
