Last night I has dinner with a music expert who knows I am an Adam Lambert fan. As far as I know, he is not an Adam Lambert fan.

Partly through dinner, he surprised me and said he had a great idea for Adam. (After I picked up my jaw...) I said, “Really?”

“Yes,” he said, “I thought of a song Adam just needs to cover. It is a pure ballad that is perfect for his voice.”

I was almost speechless, waiting for his insightful recommendation. And he finally picked up his phone and played this classic for me….

"The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" is a 1957 folk song written by Ewan MacColl for his wife Peggy Seeger. It was popularized by Roberta Flack and became a breakout hit for the singer after it appeared in the 1971 Clint Eastward film Play Misty for Me. Though the song first appeared on Flack's 1969 album First Take, it topped the Billboard Hot 100 and won the Grammy Award for Song of the Year three years later.

I agreed that it was a wonderful choice for Adam. Then we discussed the possibility of Adam doing an entire album of covers. I bragged a bit about his cover of “Is This Love?” and I thought of my favorite choices for an Adam Lambert cover album.

So, let me ask you – what 12 songs belong on an Adam Lambert cover album? You can post 1 or more recommendations! But let’s build the track list and then maybe, just maybe, he will sing these songs.

Is Randy Jackson leaving American Idol?

Nope. But he won’t likely be a judge next year either.

The current status of the Fox reality hit’s 12th season panel negotiations puts the 56-year-old record producer in a mentor-like role, sources confirm. Unless Jackson decides to leave the show, or the talks with his potential replacements completely fall apart, he’s expected to shift to a new position on the top-rated series. Jackson has been a well-regarded member of the show’s cast since the series debuted in 2002, but Fox and producers would like to make a judges panel clean-sweep for the 2013 season.

As has been widely reported, rapper Nicki Minaj is indeed near a deal to join the show as a judge. If hired, she’ll join pop singer Mariah Carey, who signed a contract worth about $17 million per year. Carey fills one of the spots vacated by singer Jennifer Lopez and Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler, whose exits were announced earlier this year.

The third spot, sources say, is most likely going to Australian country music star Keith Urban. The top runner-up for his spot (or, if Fox and producers decide to go full throttle, for a fourth spot) is Spanish singer-songerwriter Enrique Iglesias. And, hanging in there with an outside chance, Idol veteran Adam Lambert is still in the mix.

Fox and producers Freemantle Media wouldn’t comment on the judges speculation. Idol creator and executive producer Simon Fuller likewise had no comment, yet assures that some exciting casting news about Idol will be coming soon.

“There will be several positive announcements to follow shortly,” Fuller told EW in a statement. “American Idol is moving up a gear and with the help and commitment from Fox, who are more intimately involved and supportive this season than ever before, we are looking forward to a dynamic new season ahead.”

RUMOR -- Possible Idol Judges Announcement dates

There is a credible rumor -- but still a rumor -- that the official judges announcement will be made at a press conference the week of September 12, 2012 and that judges round will start on September 22, 2012.

This is the same announcement date that Shirley Halperin tweeted a few days ago.

Why the week of September 12th? Because it is the TV Fall Season premiere week.

IF Idol is targeting the week of September 12 for the press conference, it will probably leak sooner.

E!News on Saturday night, reported about possible judges, and showed Adam, Enrique and Miley.

They also reported that Keith Urban hadn't signed yet because of some contractual issues with The Voice Australia.

I believe there's no limit to Adam reinventing himself. The blond do is just a tiny ( and totally gorgeous) outside symbol of his internal change. His body language, in Mezamashi concert for example, mirrors that as well. Adam always wants to say something to his audience with his moves, normally, but here he unconsciously emits some newly found self-love, that is, he loves himself a little bit more. I cannot tell you how happy that makes me feel. It was about time, Adam.

To answer your question on how many Adam Lamberts are there: enough to keep me stocked up for a planned lifetime of manifold, diverse, HQ indulgence. ( and I ain't easy to please : )))
And the best thing is they keep coming! It's raining Adams, hallelujah!

Miracles is a song that conjures up some special memories.

So who will fill in the fourth judging spot? We have been told that Kayne West is out of the running and Nick Jonas probably will not take on the fourth chair as well. Someone very likely to take the spot is Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe, who may take over the reigns as the "British judge." Luckily he has plenty of practice as a judge from his work on So You Think You Can Dance. What we do know is that the fourth judge is definitely a wild card.
