The whole show download is out of sync. I downloaded this twice, just to be sure. Anyone else have this problem? Click or right click and save: tinyurl.com/bluerose-alt40 Adam Lambert @ Take 40 Live LoungeWhat software are you using to watch the whole show? I looked at it with Windows Media Player and with iTunes. The singing looks in sync to me with Windows Media Player although some of the DJ/interviewer's talking (recorded separately) looked a little off. But in iTunes, I did notice the sync not being as well matched in the singing. Especially look at the segment form 20:15 to 20:40 where you can see a close-up side view of Adam's face. But I also see the same problem with the WWFM file in iTunes at about 2:00. Even when the video looks in sync to me, I do get this feeling of something not quite right between the audio & video. I think it has to do with the audio being taken from the stage mics with no blending of sound from the audience. So it is missing the echoing, i.e, the way the audio sounds when the sound waves rebound off the walls, etc. So it sounds more like a studio recording and less like a concert while my eyes are telling me that it is a concert.

I've tried every player I've got, it's out of sync from the very beginning. (WMP, Quick Time, real Player, & VLC) Should I try the download a third time?

The individual files and whole show file look the same to me in the singing sections (the individual files having no interviews). You could try the download again. And if you want to know how to readjust the audio/video syncing there is a free software that can easily do it for you. It just takes some trial and error to find the right amount of delay. Or, there is a free software that can link together the individual files into one file if you prefer this. I could write up the instructions and post on the tech help page.

Q3, I have a TV ratings question for you. How does the rating system know who is watching on a certain TV. I mean, say it's a family in the Nielsen system. How do they get the 18-49 rating, which is the one you quoted. While XF looks better in that, their overall numbers are way lower than Idol's are, which were between 14-20 million last season. The best show XF had was the one right after the Super Bowl. I would guess that probably less than 1/2 of those TV sets that were on, after the game, acctually had people watching XF! Nielsen tracks individual viewers not TV sets. So they know who is watching and what they are watching and when they are watching. So they track broadcast and time delayed viewing. Nielsen uses a sample of US TV viewers and then projects that across the whole population. Advertisers select ad buys and pay based upon the Neilsen ratings which are quite accurate. That's what I don't understand. How? How do they track individual viewers? A home usually has more than one person in it. I have never understood how TV ratings are determined.

They send you a log book by snail mail in which to write everything down.

WTH I did a 3rd download and it looks ok now. I have no idea why. When I downloaded the 2nd time, I didn't delete the 1st. This time I deleted the other 2 before downloading. ETAYes, the individual songs were fine with the 1st download.

Some of the Nielsen homes have push button meters each member watching punches in when they come in the room.

HI myspenser50...What I don't understand about Idol and Adam. in July it seemed like an almost done deal that Adam was going to be on the show, article after article was about the matchup. Of course Idol said nothing and Adam hinted at a new job. Then the bottom dropped out and Adam was barely ever mentioned in August. What happened to change the dynamics? Then there was a rush to find other judges outside of Adam. So confusing. Did Adam say too much? Was there a contract? Why is every other judge known, but for the fourth judge? They had to know that Randy was leaving the panel?Does Enrique even want the gig?If Adam really has it,why doesn't AI just say so? Idol/FOX haven't announced anyone but Mariah. Everything else you read is rumor/gossip by media. The statement by Fuller has been the only statement from anyone connected with show since the Mariah announcement. Oh and Nigel made a statement too.
