Re Nielsen surveys: Our family was chosen (have no idea why) to participate in a radio survey. IIRC we received a letter asking if we would. When we consented each family member received his/her own log and $1.00. We each recorded every time we listened to the radio, which station and for how long. Whether it was at home, in the car or elsewhere. Radio or computer. We did this for one week. It was a small hassle, but not really that hard.

The reports are saying things like Nikki &/or Keith are "99%" & "all but signed" - I guess meaning that all the contract details have now been worked out and it just needs to be signed by the artist. Adam could be in a similar spot with contract details being worked out. In which case he can say that he is being considered without saying that he has it. Could be the case, but one difference is that no one associated with Adam or with Fox/Idol is saying Adam is close to signed. If all the judges were being touted as as good as signed, there would be no surprises left, the mystery would be gone and so would a lot of the buzz. In this case a press release would be a little superfluous.

I thought Nielsen does their survey by calling each of the household. Howmany members in your household What's the age how many tv you have etc. Or they use other data that avaialable for them. I think whenever the TV on one household turn onto AI they just take their conclussions from that survey. JMHO. Here's how the stuff works.. www.howstuffworks.com/question433.htmThere is actually a device on the "Neilsen Families" TVs that they use for immedtiate data. 2.A more technologically sophisticated system uses Set Meters, which are small devices connected to televisions in selected homes. These devices gather the viewing habits of the home and transmit the information nightly to Nielsen through a "Home Unit" connected to a phone line. The technology-based home unit system is meant to allow market researchers to study television viewing habits on a minute to minute basis, seeing the exact moment viewers change channels or turn off their TV. In addition to set meters, individual viewer reporting devices, such as people meters, have allowed the company to separate household viewing information into various demographic groups, but so far Nielsen has refused to change its distribution of data of ethnic groups into subgroups, which could give more targeted information to networks and advertisersHere's a picture of a PeopleMeter. www.google.com/imgres?hl=en&client=firefox-a&sa=X&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&biw=1516&bih=753&tbm=isch&prmd=imvns&tbnid=cJWOhG9vOqaq2M:&imgrefurl=http://www.beingpractical.com/tag/trp/&imgurl=http://www.12manage.com/images/picture_nielsen_ratings.jpg&w=300&h=225&ei=yMFCUNaDE_GK0QH8qoGADg&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=729&vpy=440&dur=3655&hovh=180&hovw=240&tx=167&ty=104&sig=101633696486227871585&page=1&tbnh=127&tbnw=169&start=0&ndsp=33&ved=1t:429,r:20,s:0,i:138 There is a button for each person in the household -- and when you watch a show, you need to push your button.

Thanks, Q3, for the Adam cover idea. Heard some "new" music as well enjoyed some I had sort of forgotten. And it kept "the kids" occupied for a while... waiting to see what you come up with for the rest of the trip...
ARE WE THERE YET??? ;D ;D
I love this place
