It is funny that in our little poll -- NCOE or BTIKM do not have one vote as a favorite song!!
ETA: Bridget -- you are reading my mind!!
The puzzle to me is why I like Runnin' so much --- I really am not that fond of the lyrics (like Aftermath for me) and the vocal has some odd bits in the lower register, but it has an energy and joyous spirit that makes my day.

I voted but, like Adam, find it hard to pick a "favorite" track...I'd like to see a poll for "Which song do you think will be the BIG HIT from Trespassing?" kickin'in

PTL is my favorite song. It's the one I play on repeat-repeat-repeat when I'm in my car. To me, it is the most danceable, even before any remix.
I did not like TP at first, but the live version, with Brian's arrangement, i love! I still wish that is the version that could be released as a single. So I could better support it = buy it! (I have the cd downloaded from both iTunes and Amazon). The best live renditions, for me, have been the most recent, from Japan. There is less anger, and more sexy. It is now more relatable.

The strongest quality of the album is that none of the songs individually surpasses its integrity and compactness as a complete work of art. It can turn out to be its main flaw at the same time, not having a huge hit song. We'll see. Even if that happens, I would never trade having a hit song with having an incoherent album.
Trespassing has already accomplished its major mission: it has established Adam as a serious song-writer and a respectable artist on the music scene. ( in addition of him having already been recognised as a brilliant singer). Everything on top of that is icing on the cake, imho.
Its second best quality is the diversity of sound, vibe and lyrical content. So much so, that I cannot name my favourite since different songs carry the title at different times. The category is fluid. It depends on my emotional needs at a given moment.
I will not do that poll since I do not have the heart to leave any of the songs hanging.
I agree with Teddybear that TP is the best song, together with OOL. They are the alpha and omega of Trespassing. The broadest possible message, with the music being the perfect accompaniment for that message on both songs.

The live performances keep getting better. I don't know about earlier anger, but there is def a lot of joy in the JP shows.

TP is all about attitude. IMO, the recent version would not work at all. If people hear that version on TV I don't think they would be compelled to go and buy it on iTunes. The way it was done at the NNN awards is how it should be done

Figured out I have a 6 way tie for #1 and then a 4 way tie for #2. I am usually not this noncommital! :-/
