I think the song "Map" is about the "Awakening of the Mind and Soul" You know , like that tweet from the Illuminati that said "He who looks outside , dreams , and he who looks inside , awakes" and btw , Adam retweeted that tweet . I think that's what Adam meant , in the NCOE behind the scenes vid "Keep your mind and your heart open to light" He said in the song "You were a beam of light , lit up my broken sky" Like , He's awake now , he doesn't need the superficial things in life that "dreamers" dream about , He's much more higher than that now . He knows the deeper meaning of life and what it's all about now . And I don't even know if I'm making sense right now , english is not my language , and this is just too complicated to explain , if you guys don't get it , just scroll , I don't mind being ignored , LOL ! PS : I'm in NO WAY saying that Adam is illuminati or whatever . I'm just trying to explain what I get from the song . And again , these are just my thoughts , I can be completely wrong . Well sure I agree with that but the problem is *what* is causing said awakening? :dunno: BTW never got a chance to voice my love for Map yesterday. It's behind only Naked Love for TP play counts on my iPod! |

If I read the lyrics to MAP in another way besides it being about a lover, I think of my children. My life was stuck in repeat, in a sense, until I had a child. Children allow you to look at things thru different eyes, experience things in a new way. the love for a child is like no other love in the world. they lead us on new paths. we stay beside them. and in a way they lead us. And our children offer hope for our future.
maybe his inspiration was Rif.

Your interpretation sounds good, but what about the bolded part of the phrase "You were a beam of light Lit up my broken sky There was just something about you I had a vision and it painted the world for me And now I'm laying beside youI thought maybe it was about his godchild, about new life in the world making a difference, but "And now I'm laying beside you" doesn't fit. |

I think Adam was just encouraging us to open our minds and make the song personal for our own lives.
