Betty, that is the exact photo I was talking about. I LOVE photos like this one. It is so interesting to see what he sees. I don't know how he isn't overwhelmed at every performance by the sheer numbers of people watching him and responding so warmly.

Orland is not a vocal coach. I think Darian or Dorian was the vocal coach that's working with Adam during AI Orland is primarily an arranger although I think he does do some vocal coaching as well but yes Dorian Holly is the vocal coach that Adam worked with on Idol. Michael said at one point that although the contestants often rotated between coaches Adam worked with Michael and Dorian throughout his run. But that really matters not because "Find Your Unique Voice" is not primarily about vocal coaching although that is a part of it. Listen to the promo, it is about learning the ins and outs of how to audition, how to win a job. Auditioning skills are about WAY more than just being able to sing. They talk about critiquing auditions not critiquing singing per say. The singing is only a part of what you need to know to audition effectively especially when it comes to reality TV as contrary to everyone's belief that the are looking for "the best singers" they are looking for the best TV personalities. There is a good reason Adam repeatedly referred to the auditions as "casting" because it wasn't about singing it was about filling pre-ordained "roles" on the show. He stated that he leaned to rock during Hollywood week because he could see that there were only a couple of "rock guys" (Durbin was one) and he knew he could nail that "role" better than the others there. ETA: While I am not a PR expert I have long thought that Adam has been the best PR rep Idol could ever have. The way he handle the media after his loss was nothing short of genius and he was a major reason that season wasn't an absolute media disaster. Furthermore while he has always been supportive of the show he has also spoken openly and honestly about things that the show often tried to minimize or divert attention from such as the myth of the One Day cattle call auditions. Very few Idol ever spoke candidly about the audition process but he has from the beginning. Ditto the whole thing about "casting" and it being primarily a TV show rather than a true competition. So his praise of the show sounds more authentic because he does not actually toe the party line about things. Great posts rihannsu... ;-) I don't know how anyone can post a favorite photo. Everytime I say "Wow, best ever!!" a new one comes along and that one is the BEST!! So lost, I am. This! My new favorite picture is from tomorrow. Does that even make sense. ?? |

Do you guys remember Japanese Freddie? Did anyone find out what he thought of the Queenbert shows? I know he turned up to an Adam show in Japan so he must've been impressed and this guy is a die hard Freddie fan :D
