Adam Lambert singt "Is This Love"

"The good click of the day - Adam Lambert sings "Is this love"
It was in the year 1977 that a certain Bob Marley had a top ten hit with his song "Is this love". 33 years later the flamboyant Adam Lambert sings this number.
And that sounds everything else than bad. On Youtube you can see the clip of the "American Idol"-winner who performed the title in Sydney.
But with covers of songs he became large in the casting-show. Among others he sang songs of Johnny Cash or Aerosmith."

MTV News | Adam Lambert Talks VMAs!
MTV Australia Asks The Singer His Picks For ‘Video Of The Year’
Sep 4, 2012
He has a stack of hit singles and eye catching videos to his name, so we thought glam-pop singer Adam Lambert would be the perfect artist to ask for his picks at this year’s ‘2012 MTV Video Music Awards’!
Although Adam shied away from predicting an actual winner for the ‘Video of the Year’ category, he did admit that he loves Bajan beauty Rihanna’s “different” clip for ‘We Found Love’!
“I liked the Rihanna video a lot because I felt like it was something different,” he told MTV Australia when we caught up in Sydney last month.
“You know, all of us want to make some glam, fabulous, fashion-orientated thing but that video was very real, almost like documentary style and I thought it was very cool.”
And the ‘Never Close Our Eyes’ singer had nothing but kind words for Australia’s own Gotye, who’s also up for nods in the ‘Video of The Year’ and ‘Best Editing’ categories!
“I love the song, yeah it’s great. It’s so different, you know, and the fact that it has become such a big hit especially on American radio is really refreshing,” the former ‘American Idol’ star added.
“Songs like this song really change the game a little bit for everybody else and they make us realize that there isn’t a formula maybe, even though everybody keeps saying that there might be.”
Don’t miss the ‘2012 MTV VMAs’ broadcast live from LA’s Staples Center on Friday September 7 @ 9am (11am NZ) on MTV Australia!

Sunny future for Sony Music
Our Lifestyle writer JENILYN ALEXIA talks to Sony Music Entertainment Malaysia boss Adrian Lim
Tuesday, September 04, 2012 - 16:16
by Jenilyn Alexia
WITH four company logo changes, numerous joint ventures and multiple mergers, Sony Music Entertainment (Sony Music) has become one of the Big Three recording companies in the world of music, alongside Universal Music and Warner Music. And it’s optimistic of its future and staying at the top.
“We have statistics which show us being quite equal among the major recording companies. It all depends on releases as each label has its share of powerhouse artistes contributing to the company’s success and staying power,” said Sony Music Entertainment Malaysia Sdn Bhd managing director Adrian Lim in an interview with The Malay Mail Lifestyle at his offices in Solaris Dutamas, Jalan Dutamas 1, Kuala Lumpur.
“For Sony Music, our biggest selling artistes internationally right now are Beyonce, Kelly Clarkson and Westlife though the situation is different on a country-bycountry basis. We were actually global number one as a recording company thanks to British singer Adele who had Grammy-winning and charttopping hits like Rolling in the Deep and Someone Like You.”
To stay relevant in the music industry, Sony Music Malaysia has taken a bold step in making a foray into the live performance arena.
“It’s very unusual for a recording company to organise concerts and previously we did not do so. Recording companies usually organise only promotional tours but we went into a 50:50 joint venture with Marctensia Concerts Sdn Bhd to organise (American Idol runner-up) Adam Lambert’s concert here in October 2010,” said Lim.
“We did that as a stepping stone to generate more revenue and by doing so, we get the rights to sell the merchandise for the concert as well. After co-organising Lambert’s show we now know how it’s done. We followed that up by organising a concert here in July last year by David Archuletta (another American Idol runner-up).”
Aside from its external efforts to reach new fields, markets and customers, Sony also strives for innovation within the company as well.
Internally, it has multiple initiatives designed to keep things fresh and to synergise its various international holdings. Globally, Sony Corporation is composed of four components: Sony Electronics, Sony Pictures, Sony Ericsson and Media Max, major players in the electronics, movie, mobile communications and home entertainment distribution areas respectively.
Keeping these far-flung and diverse siblings in touch and coordinating their movements is a perennial goal.
“We have this thing called Sony United Power where our global president encourages us to work together. Every quarter or two months or so, there’s a meeting of all the Sony ‘brothers and sisters’, including Sony Electronics, Sony Pictures and Sony Ericsson, to exchange ideas on how we can help each other increase our sales,” said Lim.
“Also, a Sony convention is organised for Sony dealers twice a year as well as a gala dinner where our own artistes perform. This really differentiates us to our dealers, as they cannot find this combination of music, movies and electronics anywhere else.”
Despite the increasing loss of revenue from digital piracy, including in Malaysia, Lim said a major portion of Sony Music Malaysia’s revenue still comes from physical sales.
“Our products used to be carried by 260 outlets in the country but now it’s down to 230 outlets, mainly through the chain stores operated by Speedy, Rock Corner, CDRama, Victoria Music and Music Valley,” he said.
“Even with the closure of smaller music stories, others are coming into the market thanks to the mushrooming of shopping malls and this makes Malaysia one of the healthiest music markets in physical terms.”
Besides piracy, there’s a growing number of music lovers who are into illegally downloading music from the Internet and this has adversely affected the industry.
“We cannot beat piracy as it will always be there. There are people who feel that music is a sunset business but it’s not because there will always be people who want to buy original music,” said Lim.

Cross another name off the Idol Judge list
TMZ is reporting that Marc Anthony has signed a deal to join Season 2 of The X Factor as a celebrity mentor for Simon Cowell's team. Marc Anthony was not in any of the Idol news leaks but was on some fan lists of possible male Latino judges. With Ricky Martin committed to an NBC series. That leaves me only with Enrique Ingelais for an Idol Latino judges -- if Idol is going to have a Latino judge.
There is one more X Factor team mentor slot to fill -- on Britney's team. Plus they have not announced the hosts -- and that list includes Khlor Kardashian, Kevin McHale, Mario Lopez, Stacy Keibler and Kelly Osbourne and maybe some others we have not heard of. The National Enquirer says it will be Kevin McHale and Kelly Osbourne but not confirmed.
So a couple of X-Factor announcements to come.
