WOW I am utterly amazed at the lack of flailing and posting after Adam's announcement! I expected pages and pages of stuff immediately and that is not happening! I am thinking that perhaps Idol has it right in waiting until the DNC is done with. Perhaps this would have been better dropped during the RNC? Even twitter is pretty quiet....surprised... interesting Well, I am excited for the new single, and can't wait to see what Adam is going to do with the video for it!!      |

Excited that Adam confirmed next single. Hope Idol will be the next announcement or something even better. BTW, thankful that amnesty was granted to TEDDY BEAR's left nut or was it the right? ;D  Oh my, what if we forgot and granted amnesty to the wrong one...oopsie.. :-/ |

I still think Trespassing is a riskier choice than Cuckoo. I worry that a lot of people may not be able to "get it". So I just went to ask my 10 yo daughter which song she preferred, Trespassing or Cuckoo. She answered immediately "Trespassing". She was about to explain why, but she stopped. (She hasn't listened to these songs for a long time. When I first got the CD, my kids listened to it daily for about a week, like they couldn't get enough of it. Then suddenly they stopped listening to it, and stopped liking Adam, I don't know why, and they haven't listen to these songs since then)
Hope that it is a good sign :-). Cross my fingers. I want this single to fly high.

I meant the talent he is bumping up against for the judges spot  And, whistle note smitstle note  I've never liked her all that much and for me it's evident that some things don't change. Maybe someone can tell me if a whistle note is a musical note....don't know. My opinion, only. But, when I hear that whistle note, that whistle "register" it is like fingernails on chalkboard or biting down on aluminum foil with a tooth with a filling. I just cringe. Is it a musical note? It has pitch, certainly. In the same way that the test signal for the emergency broadcast system has pitch. I can tell you what the note is, but I don't consider it musical any more than the squeal of brakes is musical to my ear. Yes, it is her trademark, but to me it is a trick, it is not singing. Adam is known for his high notes, but they are SUNG, with resonance, depth, emotion, and for a purpose in the interpretation of the song. YMMV lol She also has the high notes, and the low notes, and everything in between. Like Adam, Mariah is known for her incredible range. Of course, at age 42, she has probably lost some of that range. Mariah is also an accomplished song writer in her own right. As far as being competition for the judges' spot, Mariah was signed for the big bucks weeks ago. AI wanted to have a worldwide superstar-legend diva on the panel to compete with The Voice having Christina on their panel. That wasn't Adam's spot, he fills a different spot at the judges' table. |
