Q3, I find these Core Entertainment lists interesting. But the one that I am most curious about is the "merchandise." Why are Kelly, Carrie, Fantasia, Daughtry, and Jordin not on the merchandise list? Is it because their seasons are older? Do you think merchandising rights might be a 5 year deal? coremediagroup.com/19.html I do not know what the current contract term is but for Season 8 -- Adam's year -- they had to file Allison Iraheta's contract in California so it is a public record. The contact term for Season 8 merchandising is 5 years. That means Adam is stuck with CORE/19 Merchandising until May 2014. UNLESS he renegotiates it or they fail to perform or some other legal way out. The contract terms have changed over time. Mostly, the contestants make less money than they used to and the recording contract advances have been lowered a lot. The UMG contract with 19 was done in the wake of Kris Allen's disappointing sales year and thus the advances were dropped a lot. Thanks! So that means Jordin just became free of her contract this year!  I would think that Adam might be their most lucrative merchandising Idol, with P2 and Scotty very close. Or since the Idol tour is going on, P2 is most likely selling the most right now. |

Talking about Trespassing the single, do you think that the management has sent it to only one radio station now, just for the purpose of promoting the coming concert. For them, it's not time to roll out the nation-wide plan yet???

Adam being pictured on that page indicates to me that he must be #1 in merchandising for them. Scotty will not go up from where he is. But P2 MIGHT have some big merchandising increase when he releases his album and starts touring. I doubt it. ETA: Merchandise IS NOT CD's, it is apparel, accessories and other non-music merchandise. Recorded music is in the 19 Recordings agreement. ETA 2: The radio version of Trespassing has only been serviced to one station in the US -- to promote Texas Tango. I think they must have contracted to do something related to Trespassing as part of that deal. It has NOT been officially released to radio yet. |

...I usually do not have any new information to share. I really appreciate all the work that many of you do to gather every detail about Adam.
