Q3 - few more questions please  1. how long is their contract with 19R/Core now? I thought they have 10years, but I saw Kelly Clarkson is still in contract with them. 2. Is it possible an alumn not in contract with 19R anymore but has signed to a label? You know who I'm talking about, Kris name's not in the 19R list but looks like he is with RCA. Or maybe he renewed his contract with RCA withouth 19R now. I'm just confused since Kelly, Carrie, Daughtry, Fantasia are still with them, especially Kelly. I thought she should be free from 19R by now. :-/ Kelly just celebrated the 10 year anniversary of her Idol win a few days ago. I am pretty sure that for Kelly her contract was for 5 studio albums, which came to 10 years. She recently did an interview that was VERY complimentary of RCA. So I would not be surprised if she stays with them, especially after the succss of her most recent album. If Carrie and Daughtry have the same deal, then they are both on album #3 now. Is it possible though if her contract with 19R is up she just sign a contract directly with RCA? I sure hope so |

I am now convinced that was not a very good Adam Lambert quiz!
Like the blood type question -- even if he knew it, why would he want to share it?
And there are several errors in the Pop Up Video of BTIKM.

I sure hope so Kelly's RCA contract was for 5 albums. She has completed 5 albums and RCA accepted them. Since the 5th album was released in October 2011 -- she probably can't sign a new contract until November 2012 -- 12 months after release of the last album. The 2002 19R agreement is for 10 years I believe -- the 2002 Idol contract is not public. Seems likely Kelly can sign a contract with any label she wants and later this Fall is completely free of 19R. ETA: I think we/me [img src=" ![]() i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx348/Quu3/Adam%20Smilys/Other%20Smileys/icon_redface.gif"][/IMG] have strayed very far from Adam news. Let's end the Kelly contract discussion here. ETA #2: Can't blame that quiz on media -- it was done by a fan. |

I'm thinking the same is now true for Kris. |

I posted it on ATop when I designed it, but we have lots of new members, and maybe some members who took it before, but would like to try it again. I'm thinking the same is now true for Kris. Kris only released his last album on May 22, 2012 -- RCA has time to decide if they want to exercise a second option (album #3). They have no incentive to make a final decision before April 2013. (The artist usually knows well before the announcement date.) Cook, for example, released his album June 28, 2011, dropped by RCA May 2012. ETA: Cassie the last question is great!!! |

RCA promo is still tweeting about Kris, also. I believe when Cook was dropped the tweets from RCA stopped completely.
