nica did you read my reeasons for why the Enrique/Randy news is good? It clears up the Enrique rumor. Enrique is out! YAY!!
Next rumor will be that Randy is indeed moving to a role as mentor.
Voila! Adam is the 4th judge.
Adam was not 2nd choice or their last resort! They stopped pursuing Enrique for whatever reasons. They will say he never had a firm offer.
Randy moved onto a new position! Randy saves face!
Adam is their choice for 4th judge! I like the way you think!  |

Quick drive-by post: Me likey those idol news. To me this reads, both Randy and Enrique were in the loop on this 4th seat round-robin...whatever you want to call it, this increases my hope that Adam is the poker card they are quietly holding in their hands. SusieFierce I'm tipping my hat to you, here. Now why this makes any PR sense, is beyond me, because idol is looking rather desperate and not at all like they are on top of things at the moment, so I don't get it. As far as Simon's comment goes, the way I read that is Randy is the best candidate from Simon's perspective (as in the weakest candidate). Adam on idol is not in his interest and Enrique probably not either. Radio edits: I probably prefer the one that is changed up less, but in general I will like any radio edit that is also released on i-tunes. Just so we fans have a chance to push the single up on i-tunes again. Is this possible to release a slightly altered version like this and make it count as a normal single purchase? This is what is bothering me with the Enr - Randy "switch": Lets say Enr. is out for whatever reason and now Randy is back in as the "last resort"... WHERE IS ADAM in this? We always reasoned that if not Enr. then Adam. .. How is this a positive development? As much as I can't see them going with three African Americans on the panel, I still don't understand how this new rumor can be seen as positive for us ??? Re new TP edit: I love every version of TP I've heard so far- the album, all live performances and both radio edits....the song is just soooo good! Well my interpretation is that the article is full of crap and Randy is not IN, just because Enrique is OUT. This article either intentionally or unintentionally gets it wrong. And the fact that they don't consider the other options, even though they were publicly speculated about in other media, makes me lean towards 'planted reporting'. Adam was mentioned as planned substitute for Enrique in quite a few reports and if they stay on top of idol news, they would know that. The fact that they ignore to go there, tells me that they don't WANT to report that. That's why I thought it was good news. Anyway, it is all just speculation. |

But why take a song that is 100% Adam and unique and change it up to make it radio friendly? Didn't they already try this with NCOE?! IDGI! I get the Dallas edit version because it shortened the song, but kept the basic song intact. I get making it shorter. But changing it? Why? Imo because it improves a song that was awesome but somewhat sonically repetitive and makes it even more adam-my? the new funky ending kicks ass over the original, the pacing is better, the new harmonies and extended panting is crazy in a good way and very in character to me. I also like the first radio edit, but this was an unexpected thrill for me. I like the Dallas edit (the album version is too long) better because it kept the essence of the song but just made it shorter. This one strays too much. I am just afraid and gunshy after NCOE that RCA is fucking around with their "radio friendly" non creative minds again! |

It could be wolf hair or it couuld just be the lighting. But I don't expect the platinum to last too long. Has to be very difficult to keep up. LMAO as opposed to having black hair when you are a natural strawberry blond which is just a snap... ;D ;D ;D ;D |

I almost don't care, as long as it wasn't Enrique beating him out for the 4th seat. That was a decision that made zero sense to me. If is ultimately Randy, then I can see the reasoning, even if its foolish. ITA, koshka. I'm better with it if it's a matter of Randy and his superglue than someone else. |

He even said he used mascara once in a pinch on the road! The roots for the platinum have to be stripped. Right? |

Or, Idol and Adam couldn't agree on terms (salary, etc.), and since the producers need to finalize the judging panel as soon as possible, they decided to reinstate Randy. I think the Hollywood Reporter article is feasible. If the other judge options dropped out and FOX was determined to have a 4th judge, bringing back Randy makes sense. (And it would probably make Mariah happy.) Believe me, this scenario doesn't make me happy, but it seems plausible to me. ETA: I'm not saying this is fact, just saying that is makes sense as a possibility.  I would think that Randy would be more expensive than Adam and likely more than Enrique also. He's been there a long time and his salary has likely grown over the years. Randy could have agreed to take a reduction in salary to stay on for one more year. It's something that's done in the business world all the time. Versus the other option of $0, 4 million vs ? million might not look so bad. It's not like Randy has a lot of bargaining power. Plus, they may be offering him other perks and incentives that we might not know about. |
