No, no! It has nothing to do with their relationship! It has to do with fair judging of the contestants. I don't give a fuck about their relationship. It would affect their judging. It will be like having 3 judges instead of 4. Well, my question is - as Idol has said Randy was instrumental in brokering the deal for Mariah- did he get 20% of Mariah's salary as her manager? If he did, I do think it's highly unethical that he gets that cut and then gets a cut of his own. If he was negotiating on equal footing, he should have stepped out of Mariah deal and not used his inside influence to get her job and collect from the judge coffers twice. Not an attorney, but that just smacks of conflict of interest, IMO. . Yep.. double dipping ;D |

But is his info reliable? Can we trust that Randy's returning after all or could he be mistaken? TV Line is a reliable source (they report accurate spoilers about TV shows -- they have an inside track with a lot of producers). Michael Slezak, the writer of the article, has never been a fan of Randy Jackson. And he also praised Adam when he appeared as a mentor on Idol back in Season 9, and wrote an article earlier this year saying that Adam would be a good choice as a judge. I'd say the decision has been made. We'll probably never know why Adam didn't get the job. It's possible that FOX wanted a bigger star than Adam and when Enrique fell through at the last minute, they decided to stick with Randy. Or maybe Adam and Idol/FOX couldn't agree on financial terms. In any event, Adam will fine. Lots of other options for him. And maybe if one of the judges don't work out, we'll see him on Idol in Season 13.  ETA: Silver lining: No Idol = more time for a Trespassing tour + more performances with Queen! That's what people said about deadline.com :dunno: |
