I'm not an expert on this stuff, but there is nothing new here. It's just a rehash of yesterday's guessing. Adam's name is still there as a possibility even with Randy back. Totally throwing this out there - Randy is back as they can't finalise the deal with Nicki Minaj. My prediction for the panel (although I might have lost the will to live with all this): Mariah, Randy, Keith and Adam.

Now I haven't followed Adam like some of you but to me if he were out of the running he would have said something. *shrug* I don't think that's proof he has something, but the fact that he hasn't denied it tells me that as far as he knows he's definitely still in the mix.

I keep thinking of what others have said which is basically, middle America is not ready for a panel of three people of color and an Aussie. Maybe Idol will go that way. In any case, I am throwing that we could hear tomorrow or Thursday. Don't think it will be today with 9/11 but if so, it would be late in the day.

I am curious as to why there are two different radio edits, who did the editing anyway? And which one is supposed to be the official edit? #Clueless I'm curious about this too. Are they testing each to get feedback? Do they do that? Would they send a different radio edit to different radio formats, so it would be possible to have both versions playing on radio? It's interesting. Are any other radio premieres happening that we know of? LMAO if a third (non-album) version shows up! No they don't usually do this. It seems only RCA liks to fuck with Adam's music and survey PDs to find out what they like which they end up not playing anyway. Oh, wait, Mariah just did 4 versions of her single and all 4 failed miserably! And here's a question, if there is a radio edit single put out to buy, how does that help the album sales? And if there isn't a radio edit single put out WTF are people going to think when they hear it on the radio and then go to the album to buy it?! :-/

My 2 cents on the latest discussions. I really like the new radio edit. It made me want to listen to it again and again because it is interesting. As far as Idol, I've gone from a firm believer that he had it to I couldn't care less either way. I still care.

I sincerely hope they have a plan... I know you don't like the new edit, mys*&@^#r but honestly, I just listened again and I love it! I really love it. I love the ending that everyone seems to hate. IDK, I think it just moves really well and grabs my attention from start to finish. I do love album Trespassing but I think it needed something to make the crossover to radio. IMO, this edit is still funky and has tons of attitude. I don't think that has been lost at all. One of the biggest problems I have with Cuckoo, for instance, is that I start out loving it but 2/3 of the way in, it loses me. Every time. It just doesn't keep me engaged for the whole song. Trespassing was never like that, I've always loved it, but this version doesn't let go at all. It has a drive to it that even the album version doesn't have. None of this matters, of course, if radio doesn't play it. I have everything crossed for this right now. Damnit RCA, get it right this time :-/!

Here's the thing, if they wanted to go "more radio friendly" than they should have just chosen Cuckoo. And the irony of choosing Adam's mission statement and then changing it to be more radio friendly is well......... ironic! I'm not going to say anythhing else about the songs. I don't want to be a "wanker."
But I will comment about the Randy news. It is bullshit! I still say it is a PR way to save face for Randy. He will soon come up with the idea that it is not ethical for he and Mariah to be on the same judging panel (which it isn't.) He is going to move to a role as mentor.

And every single story that has been put on-line all came from that one Deadline story, and their ethics and sources are questionable. Did you all see they changd their original article without saying it was updated or edited? Funny, I was just coming here to comment on that "possibly" addition. I had just gone back to read last week's Deadline article and the word jumped out at me. The article didn't always read "and possibly Enrique Iglesias." The reporter originally stated, with certainty, "Joining confirmed new judge Mariah Carey will be Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban and Enrique Iglesias." She didn't note on the page that the article was edited or updated in any way and there's no change in the time stamp. That's pretty sheisty. Definitely not honorable (or accurate) reporting. Good catch, misha! On 9/7/2012, the article deadline.com posted said: "According to industry insiders, Fox appears to have settled on a quartet of judges for the upcoming 12th season of American Idol with not a moment to spare as taped auditions are eyed to begin as early as next week. Joining confirmed new judge Mariah Carey will be Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban and Enrique Iglesias who just wrapped his tour with departing Idol judge Jennifer Lopez. Information on their salaries is conflicting, but Carey’s is believed to be in the $15-$17 million dollars, Minaj’s and Iglesias’ in the $10-$12 million range, while Urban is rumored to be earning about $3-$5 million. Don’t forger host Ryan Seacrest, who also is pulling a cool $15 million a season. The role of original American Idol judge, Randy Jackson, is unclear."Now it says: "According to industry insiders, Fox appears to have settled on a quartet of judges for the upcoming 12th season of American Idol with not a moment to spare as taped auditions are eyed to begin as early as next week. Joining confirmed new judge Mariah Carey will be Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban and possibly Enrique Iglesias, who just wrapped his tour with departing Idol judge Jennifer Lopez and is negotiating with Fox. Information on their salaries is conflicting, but Carey’s is believed to be in the $15 million-$17 million range, Minaj’s and Iglesias’ in the $10 million-$12 million range, and Urban is rumored to be earning about $3 million-$5 million. She can no longer be considered a reliable source, if she ever was, in my opinion.

I watched The Voice this morning (Prime Time Anytime) and there was a young girl on the show who came out and said yes I am gay in her back story. I attribute her ease and openness with Adam's strength and courage, His groundbreaking courage has opened the door for others to be true to themselves.
