HUH? I don't get it. Are you saying people are leaving because the album hasn't done really well? People have come and gone from PF and Atop for forever and for different reasons, I guess.

I've been looking at the contest vids thread and this one was really good. The person who made it said it wasn't for the contest because it didn't fit the rules of the contest but they liked the videos so much they wanted to join in the fun and do one. I loved it! GABBY and WAL are doing an amazing job getting us the videos!!

^^That only proves my point^^ The #10 album, which will have been out for a year next month, has sold 920K. Album sales are not doing great across the board. I really think the industry people know this & will not use sales for a Grammy nom. Singles are different, but for album, no! The industry people know to adjust for lower album sales, but they will look at where these albums fell on the chart. Stronger is at #10, TSP isn't in the top 100. There are pop albums that sold 500K+ (or even 300K+) to consider. If TSP was anywhere close to that, it possibly could be considered on sales. The industry has used sales for Grammy nominations, in the Pop album category, over the past two or three years. Why are they not going to do that this year?

I'm not feeling doom and gloom either. Don't know why, honestly, lol. Maybe I'm just tired of it and just want to enjoy what we get. I like the cool pictures. I think they were planning Trespassing was gonna to be picked up but it DID really suffer from being two years in the works (or withheld for a tepid Bruno reject). I didn't realize it had BEEN two years, because for us in the fandom, we were pretty much always connected with what was going on. But I DO remember when Cook's album tanked, I thought, "he waited too long between albums." I really didn't care abt him or any other Idol, so this is from someone who had no idea what he was doing in the interim. I know there's a possibility that AL will take a similar trajectory, but he just has a lot of other things to offer, I'm feeling somewhat optimistic. There's just too much interesting sides to him.
Anyway, I do think that he may have missed the boat regarding things like SNL. Their target audience is college-age kids--and preferably male. I'm not going to beat up on the fandom for not fitting that demographic, cuz I sure as hell don't either. Hopefully I'm wrong there, but I'm not seeing it happening. I think he DID have a shot with the number-one album and the social climate earlier this year, but it just didn't hit. I think RCA was counting on the Rolling Stone support to mean more, and for radio to pick up NCOE. Rolling Stone put it on their best albums of 2012 so far and there was a chance that it was gonna gain traction and get put on critics' Best of 2012 year-end list. That could have fueled some Grammy buzz. It could STILL get a Rolling Stone critics best of 2012 poll at end of year, but don't think so. That arc didn't happen as I think the label forecast.
Wait, did I say I was optimistic? Yeah, I am. Maybe it's because I no longer think of Idol panel as the be-all. I saw that The Voice and X-Factor were both on tonight and I just didn't give a sh*t. Oversaturation, totally. There are other paths with AL. I'm convinced of it after seeing the fashion shots. And, oh yeah, he has that other-worldly VOICE. That could be easily forgotten with all else he has going on.
(I hate posting on my phone. I pretty much have to post to see the msg and then correct so not sure this is even coherent!)

I think that's one of his managers from DMG. I think his name is Josh...not 100% positive on the name...but he was also in Japan with Adam. Are you sure? If so, I tend to think there was some business going on in NYC, otherwise Adam didn't need his manager accompanying him at fashion shows..... Yeah... that might explain why Sauli didn't go to NYC. hmm... what do you think? When I click on the first picture, the tab (I'm on Google Chrome) says Adam and Jeremy Scott. Who is he? A Manager?
