Bogus news Bulletin: Reality singing shows canceled because no contestants showed up so programming has turned to "Sob Story Singers Throw Out Judging Panels," and Coke and AT&T use extra money to hand out prizes to You-Tube Singing Sensations. Adam Lambert is selected to judge, as he's the only celebrity who has experience rating You-Tubes. "I'll always be grateful to television for giving me my platform, but that is so 2008." In other news, it is rumored that Snooki and Basketball Wives will be asked to judge re-runs of The Voice, American Idol, the X-Factor and America's Got Talent. The Kardashians will sponsor and produce the show, because who really knows talent?It is also reported that Nigel Lythgoe and Ryan Seacrest have a new show called "Public Flogging and Self-Indulgent Rubbish," produced by Simon Cowell.  |

Sometimes it is very easy to diminish the barriers that Adam broke through. 1. For all the talk about he would have made it as a recording artist without Idol -- I do not think Adam would have made it. We all know the list of first's Adam accomplished but the two big ones are FIRST openly gay US artist to get signed to a major label contract and FIRST openly gay artist to get radio airplay in the US. (Yes, there are asterisks for artists who came out late in their careers etc but you know what I mean. BUT even Boy George never came out until later.) 2. Even with Idol, Adam has not had an easy time. The world, not just the US, is NOT a level playing field for gay artists. 3. Remember at Adam's Idol audition, Randy said, something like "I think the time is right for someone like you..." I am convinced he meant gay, and more specifically who was openly gay in his performance style and person. >> Adam will win through in the end -- and he has opened up a path for other gay artists and celebrities. He did not do it alone but he played a big role.

On the Idol thing -- I am very pleased that a gay artist was proposed as a judge and that was not even an issue for most people.  We have come a long way.  |

I am expecting we will have a "Happy New Year" tweet as well.
Question to the mods:
I know we have many members that are interested in AI and the judges and what Nigel said, etc... but since from now on it is no longer Adam related - would it possible to have the AI discussion in a separate thread? Please comment on if my request is appropriate....thank you.
(scrolling does not work because in order to scroll one has to read first and there is no way to avoid tweets posted here ...)

So do we think Trespassing will get a proper launch? Not gonna lie, I THINK promo this era has been really messed up. QueenBert has been the highlight FOR ME. I WANT a full out TV push. Ellen, Leno, Letterman etc......
