did not think you would notice that I kind of slipped off into the shadows...
.....my experience ... Adam's music can set the tone of your mind's descent as well as its ascent back into fierce light...
and the great thing about Adam's community of friends ... you really do not need to say goodbye... when you are ready to be back...
seamlessly, you fit right back in....

Well, IMO, he couldn't do a gig like this & the auditions. This gig is on a Tuesday. If anything, for me, this last minute gig proves to me that he did indeed have Sept blocked out because of Idol. Have I said "Fuck Idol" yet?! ;D Q3, why would he have to squeeze in a 3 day weekend trip with Sauli, if he planned on taking a whole month off? :-/ We will never know what happened. My brain thinks Randy is there for Mariah and for no other reason. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if he wasn't added to keep her from walking. If I were her, I'd be livid that MN was added to the panel. When they signed Mariah, back in mid July, I was sure she'd be the only Diva. I'll bet Mariah thought the same thing! All theory and speculating of course.  I agree with your theory and your speculating. 8-) A piece is still missing from this puzzle/mystery and I would love to know for sure what it is. Cause I believe that after Enrique, Adam pretty much was going to be offered the job. And then - presto - Randy's butt is firmly planted back on the panel once again. I think your theory holds water, mys*&@^#r.  Hugs, mys*&@^#r  YUP, he had to again put it all on the line for idol and this time the chairs voted the other way....why...we will never know, but I guess, Lynsey was right, once they had Mariah and Nicki, there was no more room for additional flamboyance and theatrics. Adam was out, once whoever pushed for Nicki had gotten their will. Sucks...and I don't think it will work for them, but for now it is what it is and Adam has to move on and so do we. I wish I could go to Washington....  And sure hope it sells well. Not sure that Adam gets a ton of money from this, as this is a primarily a fundraiser. Adam has done a lot of fundraising this year. Amazing guy! |

I really thought I had moved on from Adam not getting to be an Idol judge. And for the most part I have.
BUT I can't bear to watch or read any news about Idol AND I HATE THEIR GUTS for drawing the decision out for so long and depriving us from enjoying Adam getting all the perks. I can't even bear to watch The Voice or X Factor now. As long as I stay away from these situations I am joyful.

Question about radio:
Now some radio stations have added Trespassing and some have played it. What will keep these station playing and increasing the number of spins?
I follow ChumFM in Toronto here, trying to figure out how radio works but still can't. First of all, I think Chum loves Adam, or at least their DJs do. I knew Adam through Chum. Ididn't know Adam until later so I didn't know much about radio in FYE era. Trespassing era came, Chum jumped on BTIKM quite early, though it wasn't the 1st Canadian radio station to play it. After being added, BTIKM was played 3-4 times a day. It entered Chum chart top30 and climbed up until it reached #9 in the chart.
Chum seemed to follow a different pattern with NCOE. It added the song much later. During the first week, it also played the song 3-4 times a day. The week after that, it suddenly reduced the spin to 1-2 times a day only. I was so shocked as I expected NCOE do better than BTIKM. I also think fans were requesting because the long wait made us feel so itchy to request.. .NCOE had a short life on Chum. It never entered the top 30 chart.
I don't know what the radio station base on to decide how long they keep playing a song. They can't base on itunes sales at the early stage of a song to make that decision, right? If so, then what?

If they are playing it on a station in your area, requesting via phone or text is the best thing to do. When it goes from 4 spins a day to 1-2 spins a day, it probbaly means they are not getting good feedback on it from their audience.

Since he could have done gigs like the 9:30 one while doing the callback judging I wonder why there was such a big hole in his schedule. I'm done with the topic same as all of you, it's just that I hate unsolved mysteries. And there's plenty of those in this situation. I just have to accept that I'll never know the answers. Like what was he so excited about that was happening in Sept but he "couldn't" say what it was.  Ok I'm done - I promise. Don't you think that he was very close to signing the contract, then someone came and had very different perspectives, and AI changed their direction, they started to approach Enrique. It happens in business. I think Adam withdrew before Enrique refused Idol. The reason is I read from TMZ and maybe other sources that when Enrique declined, Idol had no one else, so they went back to Randy. It sounded like either Idol said No to Adam or Adam said No to Idol before Enrique. I don't know how much truth there was with these sources, but the way Adam said he was stressing out waiting to hear from Idol made me think he didn't want to be in the game any more. So I tend to think it was Adam who refused Idol. What changed? This is my speculation: they officially got Nigel back on board. My speculation is that Nigel wanted Randy (they have worked together for 10 years) or the show had to pay big bucks to keep Nigel on board. Randy already had a contract, so they saved money by not having to pay out his contract AND hire someone else. In other words, Enrique's money went to Nigel (plus a few million more) and then they were stuck going the budget route with the judge selection. *Disclaimer: This is pure speculation!  |
