OT -- Aussie comedy show HAMSTER WHEEL airs a segment on trying to understand the opposition to gay marriage - there is some reference to local headlines/events but even out of context is quite funny!

Maybe Brian and Roger can do him a favor and take him over in their private jet. Or do a remote live performance from SA. Just kidding!! ETA: Actually Adam could make the show. Concert in Johannesburg is on the 16th. The AMAs are November 18, 2012 @5:00PM LA time. It is 24 to 34 hours from Johannesburg to LA but you also gain time on the clock. Delta --- JNB 8:00pm 11/17/12 arrives LAX 10:00am 11/18/12. 24 hours travel time but he could arrive 7 hours before the show. What would make us believe that any US music industry event would have Adam?

I do not think Adam is going to be on the AMAs this year -- his schedule does not work for it and this awards show focuses on performances by top sellers/very popular acts. But I do not think that TV Producers have any issue with Adam -- for anything, including awards shows. For example, Adam introduced One Republic on the AMAs last year.

This video is OT but it really is something to watch and since it's slow here right now I thought I'd post it. Watch this on full screen! It is so funny because I watched this immediately after finishing reading Player Piano by Vonnegut. Maybe engineers really are taking over the world or at least Coke production. :D :D

Yeah, I don't believe it's the producers, but I still believe he was supposed to have a bigger role in the AMAs last year as part of a "story arc" RCA wanted to build. But he didn't have an album/single out in time. The network trotted out the story that AL was never banned. I know this is sacrilege to say, but I still think the death of Dick Clark had something to do with AL being "welcome back" to ABC. I'm going to regret saying that, but I believe it. Adam is not being black-balled. He simply isn't a draw right now without a hit single. And I bummed as anyone. I was just watching the dance troop in Israel dancing to Shady, and that song is so awesome and has really held up for me on repeated listens. Nile Rodgers was right when he said that "turn it way up" was "fuckin' hip." I wonder why AL never took up the invite to do it live with Sam Sparro and Nile. Why not? They were all in the same city, Nile has terminal cancer and is a lengend, and Sam and AL get on wonderfully. Plus the song is dynamite. I guess labels can nix an appearance even of one's on song, right? So I guess there are politics there. Maybe cuz of the "pull it out" lyric? Which I, of course, like. Ok, so please, someone post something after this so I'm so not the last post in that thread. Wal! West coasters? I regret I think about 80 % of the posts I make but I've always been unable to sugarcoat my feelings and always worry about offended people. Love you all, and all you different viewpoints!

Junkets,
I know nothing about AMAs or who Dick Clark is, but I do agree about Shady. It's absolutely my favourite song. Sam, Nile and Adam - wicked combination, if you ask me. Adam should have taken up that invite and I hope he would have if he could have. Baby, I'm on the hunt... Baby, I got my target on you... Friggin' goosebumps!
There, now my post is the last one :D

There is the complication of the S Africa show on the 16th though. Adam would miss all the AMA rehearsals. THey could have Adam on video... why not?

How about a video of Adam if he can't get there. His Trespassing album did make #1on BB a few months ago. That's worth plenty in my book.
