I agree that Twitter and FB are the way to go is you are outside of the US or requesting from outside the radio market. A few suggestions.... 1. Twitter -- make sure that your Twitter Geolocation is turned off. Instructions here: support.twitter.com/forums/26810/entries/78525#2. Twitter and Facebook: remove any geographic reference from your profile or User ID. 3. Facebook: Block your location on your Facebook account: www.troublefixers.com/hide-your-geo-location-on-facebook/I recommend setting up accounts solely for requesting and keeping them "clean" of any location info. Your Web IP Address is associated with a Mediabase or Radio Station Website request. You should use these request methods for your local station, Z100 and Q102. Only request by phone if you are local. And only do it if the radio station wants phone requests. Many stations do not want phone requests. If I tweet from my computer and not a phone, will it show an IP address? You should be OK if you do not have a geolocated Twitter account -- it is part of your Twitter profile. Most radio stations will not go back to originating IP address for anything EXCEPT online direct requests and polls. The data from polls is really easy to split into within market and out of market. |
