A few highlights:
Album will probably be out October or November. He’s been writing like crazy.
On his favorite song he said he had fun performing Fever and WWFM on tour. And then said all the songs.
Most of what he did on stage was to get a reaction – that is why the album was called “For Your Entertainment”.
The house is Los Angeles Adam is renting has a pool.
Can you say something in Finnish? Adam: Nope.
Musical he would most want to do? Jesus Christ Superstar.
Do you like Doritos? Yes. (They have just come to New Zealand.)
What happened at Lady Gaga’s party? Heha (laugh). Um you know. You know, that party was really fun. I had a lot of – a really good time. I was invited by a friend, and I came. Ah, you know. Who hasn’t had one too many at a party. (laugh) I was trying to raise the roof you know. ---- You know. It happens. Whatever.
Adam fans hijack a trend
Finnish was trending and Adam fans picked up the trend and went with it.

“The Gaga Incident” – one week later

Note: This story has played out but we will get a small follow-up round of news because Adam will be asked about it in upcoming interviews. Seems like the New Zealand response will be his basic response -- and that should be the end of it. (Unless the ceiling sues him. I am just kidding.)
So what really happened at Lady Gaga’s birthday party? And does it matter? Did “anyone” really care?
Let me start with the only question I care about, “Does it matter?” For measuring press impact, I usually look at coverage and impact.
Coverage
It got Adam’s name in the press a bit. Last weekend, Adam actually scored two celebrity stories but neither was big enough to matter much. A big story will have well over 1,000 stories online. (Hole in Southwest jet engine – 3,941 stories.)
Gaga incident – 97 stories online, E! News, peaked on 3/31/11.
Sissors Sisters event -28 stories online, 9 print mentions. (Mostly because of Kate Hudson.)
For comparison – Adam’s March Idol appearance, Aftermath Remix and GNL DVD release all got more coverage.
Count does not include Examiner, Associated Content and similar open publishing blogs with no editorial reviews.
While “The Gaga Incident” got coverage, it was not a big gossip story, and did not become a general news item.
Impact
Impact is based upon the content of the story. Does it matter to the general public? Will they related to the story?
This story (even the most sensationalized version) is really not much of a story. Pop/rock star gets inebriated at a party and puts fist through ceiling. Not exactly earth shattering. (Although a ceiling was shattered.) My be is that it would not have even been covered if it hadn’t been a Lady Gaga event.

The story unfolds – and gets twisted
After an there were an couple of online posts that Adam had wrecked La Citi during Lady Gaga’s birthday party, Adam tweeted this:

We do not know why Adam tweeted that he fist-pumped a hole in the ceiling but it appeared to be his attempt to get ahead of the story and say “whatever, no big deal”.
March 31, 2011: Perez Hilton talked about the incident on “The Morning Dish” on AMP 97.1 FM with Carson Daily.
This morning Perez chatted it up with Carson and told him about a songstress’s never ending bad week, a tanned DJ in talks of joining a pop queen’s tour, and how an idol fist pumped through a ceiling! DRAMA!
Here is what Perez said on AMP Radio:
Oh, oh I’ll tell you something really good. This is really, really good. ---- The only reason I’m talking about it is because he mentioned it – himself. You know he tweeted it. I haven’t even talked about it on the website, so this is an AMP exclusive. Send out a --- press release. --- I told you about Gaga’s birthday party earlier in the week. ----
So Adam Lambert showed up, uninvited ---to the birthday party. He was a plus one of the Sister Sisters --- and not that he wasn’t necessarily uninvited, he just wasn’t on the list persay.
And then he showed up really drunk, actually beyond drunk. Like super sloppy, messy, embarrassingly drunk and possibly on something else. Who knows.
But there was a moment in the evening where, I don’t know what prompted him to do this. The ceiling at this place, the Mexican dive bar, was really low, so he started fist pumping to the point where he punched a hole in the ceiling and then – he keep on first pumping. And Gaga was like “Ah, what’s going on? Stop Adam.” And he was like staring her down with like a possessed, demonic look in his eyes, like a jackhammer punching a huge hole in the ceiling. Then it gets better.
Then, while this is all going on, Semi Precious Weapons was performing --- and the lead singer stopped and said, “Ah hem. Excuse me ladies and gentlemen. Adam Lambert is attempting to take away attention from me by punching a huge hole in the ceiling. From American Idol to jail.”
And then Gaga, of course, went running away. We were all like mortified. Like what is going on?
Then after that happened, you would think that Adam would leave out of embarrassment. So he stayed at the party.
Then Gaga had these like princess cakes with Disney character on top. He got one of the toppers and attempted to like put it in her mouth. We were like, “What is going on?”
Then it gets worse. Then once again, we flee from Lambert in like shock and horror. He comes and finds us at the back of the bar outside, in the patio area and was like serenading here like he was auditioning for American Idol again.
And then finally he got kicked out of the party.

Eventually Gaga asked her security to kick him out, added the witness.
A rep for Lambert had no comment on the incident, but a few days later, Lambert acknowledged his bad behavior on his Twitter page.

E! News quoted an apparently different unnamed source who claimed that “while Adam may have gotten a little out of hand at the event he was not forced out of the fest.”
Last Friday/Saturday AM New Zealand, Adam did an interview with The Edge (New Zealand radio). It will be played at 8:00PM New Zealand/3:00AM ET US Monday in its entirety. But in a preview released on April 3rd, Adam was asked about the “Gaga Incident”. Here is his response:
“Heha (laugh). Um you know. You know, that party was really fun. I had a lot of – a really good time. I was invited by a friend, and I came. Ah, you know. Who hasn’t had one too many at a party. (laugh) I was trying to raise the roof you know. ---- You know. It happens. Whatever.”

So what is the real story?
Confirmed by Adam:
1. Adam attended Gaga’s birthday party at La Citi.
2. He was not on the invitation list but came as a guest of the Sissors Sisters.
3. Adam was inebriated.
4. Adam fist-pumped a hole in the ceiling of La Citi (the Mexican Bar that was the site of Lady Gaga’s birthday party.)
Perez story all of the above plus 3 new items based on Perez’ account:
1. Adam tried to put a cupcake topper into Gaga’s mouth.
2. Adam tried to serenade Lady Gaga.
3. Adam got kicked out of the party.
I am ignoring all the Perez embellishments like Adam’s demonic staredown with Lady Gaga – I do not think that sounds real but “whatever”.
US Magazine story all of the above plus three new items from an unnamed source:
1. Adam tried to smear it in Gaga's face and put a doll from the cake in her mouth.
2. Adam was jumping up on chairs and tables.
3. Gaga asked security to “kick him out”.
E! News had yet another unnamed source:
1. Adam was not kick out of the party – saying Perez #3 and US Magazine #3 was not true.
Online/Twitter rumor mill:
1. Perez wasn’t at the party. (No source for this – moved from Twitter to a comment on Just Jarred to online articles.)
Other online news sources -- a few radio shock jocks
1. Twisted the story into "Adam crashed Gaga's party". I cannot determine who said this first.
So, assuming E! News is correct – and setting aside the DRAMA in the Perez version, the only parts that are disputed are – pretty innocuous – Adam (probably joking around) tried to put a Disney Princess cupcake topper/doll into Gaga’s mouth, he sang, and he was jumping on chairs and tables.
Regarding Perez – I believe he was at the party. I can’t figure out why he would do two eyewitness reports (the original party report and the Adam follow-up story) if he wasn’t there. He often reports his “dish” based on sources and there were so many people at that party who are not Perez fans that, if he lied about being there, he would be “outed” for it. He has not been.
Did “anyone” really care?
As far as I can tell, this “incident” passed by without most people noticing. When the bio-pic of Adam’s life is written, this will not even make the movie.
Anyway, I remember when rock stars bit the heads off of chickens and bats. If this is “wild, rock star behavior”, what a tame world we live in.
