In my son's situation, his international booking agent and his manager get a cut of the money he makes performing internationally, not his label. It really doesn't matter if air travel expenses are "paid." Sometimes plane fare is included in the deal, but when it is not, the money paid for performing is higher in order to compensate for those fees. New Year's Eve performances are always big pay performances, even for small names like my son, let alone for big names like Adam. He will make significantly more than his normal asking fee because promoters know you have to pay big that night to get the acts you want. And he and the band will have a fantastic vacation to boot!
lynne, I like to read your posts about your son...it's like getting a personal glimpse of an aspiring artist working his way in the show biz. Thank you for sharing with us!
Now, off to see the movie "Pitch Perfect", I hear they flash a nanosecond of Adam. Loved Picth Perfect! You will see Adam's FYE cover as an LP cover! Cute!!

All the booking prices quoted have nothing, zero, zilch, nada to do with Asian or S Pacific gigs. Particularly private gigs or TV shows like The Voice China. Right now, that area of the world has money to throw around and they are doing it! And our sweet international super star benefits from it! Oh, and I have an acquaintance who books acts for a casino right outside of Fresno. She said Adam is 150K and up for casinos. Again, this is the type of venue where it is the artist's job to get the people there. The casino will make their money from food, drinks, room bookings, and gambling!

True! This was a comment made at MJs from the Non-fan who wrote that glowing concert review of the Arizona Show: This comment came from an observer who was not a fan ( before the concert ) and was attending her first Adam Lambert concert. She felt the need to comment that the demographic at the Arizona show was made up of a large percentage of younger people. She appreciates and acknowledges Adam's talent, but doesn't make her a fan now. J/S. So true, but it's always nice to hear positive remarks about Adam's performances from non-stans! I would say she is a fan of his talent and performance ability now that she has seen him live! Adam's audiences at concerts like these are made up of far more non-stans than stans and many people who know anything about him- other than he sang WWFM and won American Idol. These types of "free shows" can often times bring in non-fans, who leave as fans, or at least one step closer!
