Bootsy @ladybrinehart For those wondering, Hot Single Sales is the top selling physical commercial singles. It doesn't take into consideration digital. But this is the Hot Dance Singles Sales and this is what I found on Wiki: Hot Dance Singles Sales (formerly known as Hot Dance Music/Maxi-Singles Sales) is a chart released weekly by Billboard magazine in the United States, established in 1985. It measures the sale of commercially released singles that deal with dance music and remixes. It was formerly known as Hot Dance Music/Maxi-Singles Sales, when the chart was restricted to sales of the 12" Maxi Single and CD Maxi Single format, but in recent years, singles only released in the CD Single format have apparently been counted too. link - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hot_Dance_Singles_Sales

I don't mean to bring up anything unpleasant, but I must say I am very surprised that the Remixes did not chart on BB200. I felt we were working very hard on it, and that it had a good chance to make it to the top half. There must be less of us than I thought. It probably did chart in the Top 200. Just haven't heard yet.

I am just posting, lol. @ladybrinehart For those wondering, Hot Single Sales is the top selling physical commercial singles. It doesn't take into consideration digital. The 4 main components that make up BB100 are Hot 100 Airplay, Hot Singles Sales, Hot Digital Songs, and On-Demand Songs. A single that tops the Hot Singles Sales chart often doesn't even make the hot 100 unless it also charts on one or more of the other 3. I don't understand this. How does a sing sell if not in digital form. Are there really "single" CDs somewhere?

Wow, I hope someone who gets all this explains soon.
Could "physical" and "digital" not exactly be defined in this context the obvious way?
Hard for me to wrap my mind around the idea that "TP" the song being on that dance chart isn't at all connected to people buying "TP" the song form iTunes . . .

Just haven't heard yet. I read in the numbers thread that it did not chart. Iridium posted this there: Also, the Trespassing EP did not make the BB200 album chart. I guess the combination of efforts to buy individual tracks and the delayed shipping of the CD from the myplaydirect store depressed sales a bit. As a point of comparison, Kelly Clarkson's Stronger was #153, and according to Brian Mansfield, it sold only 3,000 copies last week. So, the Trespassing EP sold something south of that number.
