Finally caught up...loved his little twitter "ramblings" and these two stood out for me, for no particular reason:
Adam Lambert @adamlambert @trespassmyass no, I want to write New songs for the next album.
Adam Lambert @adamlambert I mean, who's driving? Me or you guys? Hahah I guess we are constantly negotiating that. the record label is paying for the car though.
Isn't he just precious?!

The current album, Red, is definitely a Pop album but at this stage of her career, if she had put out a more country sounding album, I'd bet her Pop fans would still snatch it off the shelf in a second. Her record label and management have done an incredible job with her (she's not a dummy herself, either), her image and her music, imo, have transcended genres; to all the young girls (& boys), she's their voice telling their stories and she's what they want to be (or desire to be with).

The music biz is a business, foremost! It's never about who's the greatest singer or live singer. It's a consumer product that involves marketing, PR, finance, promotion, and of course quality of the goods (with today's technology, that's an easy fix as sad as it may be but a reality to stay), and the right time and right place, and a little bit of luck goes a long way, too.
Adam's time will come...

Adam's time will come... Also, I am sure the % of fans that actually go to concerts is small compared to those that buy the music and listen on the radio. You don't need to sing live. It does not matter for Pop.
