I'd also like to send a special shout out to those working in emergency services over the next few days. They might need a little extra luck. As a 911 calltaker/police/fire/ems dispatcher I'll be okay in my bunker but I wish my brothers and sisters on the road safety.

I am currently in Detroit and am supposed to drive home to South Florida starting tomorrow morning. My concern is how bad it will be along I-75 tomorrow especially in Ohio.
I'll be monitoring the situation very closely, and if I have to I will delay my trip.
If anyone is close to my travel route, please let me know what the local stations are saying about how the weather is supposed to be tomorrow.
For all in the path of this storm, you guys are in my prayers.
Stay Safe everyone!!!

Thanks for setting this up. I'm a little extra freaked. My husband is away and I'm at home with my 8 year old. Should be fun times in the basement today. It wouldn't be so bad, but we have 40 foot trees surrounding our house. Fingers crossed. Alone too (no 8-yr old) & also surrounded by 40 + ft trees. In SE PA. Thanks for this thread. We can communicate w/o going OT on main! Status - wind & rain picking up. Still have power but will definitely lose later today. Going by history. Expected duration is week or more w/o power. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

Stay safe my fellow northeast-coasters. Can't believe the monster has intensified to 85 mph. Long Islander here. Having lived in S. Florida for 25 years, we're prepared. Never thought we'd have to use our hurricane preparedness plan in NY.

Please do let us know that you are safe once the storm is through.
And Talon, I'm sending out positive energy to all the emergency workers

Winds picking up here in mid CT. Leaving the house. It has been such a nice house. Fondest memories if it goes.
