cassie, you are so right about the quality of his voice without any enhancement. I saw this audition, and although I fell in love with his voice, I was amazed at how "underwhelmed" (ermm, is that a word?) the judges were. Why weren't they all yelling, "Wow, that was amazing! You can REALLY sing!!". The reactions are very bland compared to other contestants they liked. Did they maybe think he was a "one trick pony" (a common critique)? That he couldn't be commercially successful in the current market? I just don't know. Has always puzzled me, because he is probably the best live singer AI has ever produced. When I watched this I remembered that Simon said Adam was "theatrical" and therefore "not current". What does think about Gaga now !!!!

What Tedder had to say about Adam was great. I wish he had also mentioned his song-writing skills (as he did Cook's). Yeah, I want it all. Well Cook's writing skills has gotten him a delayed album release. Most of the songs according to the grapevine, were not that great. So what does Tedder know? Not much apparently.

I don't UNF a lot but HOLY FRAK... UNF It was so funny, there is a bar at the background of the venue (the Gloria is a small venue with around 800 standing capacity) and the barkeeper and two guys demonstrated desinterest in what happened on stage and then when "Purple Haze" started I watched them standing there with their mouths open as if they could not believe what was happening. I have watched so many concerts but this was one of the best I ever saw.

Tedder didn't actually say he was a good writer. He just said he contributed more than most. My interpretation of the Q&A is that he contributes more than most. That doesn't necssarily mean that it good. However, he is a great guy. THR: And how is David as a co-writer? Tedder: Great, more than any singer I've worked with, he contributed enormously lyrically and musically – he can play, he knows voicing, chords and arrangements as well as lyrics. He's a full-on writer. I love David, he’s a great guy.

We didn't have any good pics from the show, so Ed did several screen caps and made them into pics. We then went to Symphony Hall (beautiful Soaked, by the way) & got front row at the venue when he came out to sign! I have pics of this too, & a larger pic of the mask but I screwed up my photobucket somehow..have to have the computer savy son come over! Anyway, he looked down at the pics, said "This is the mask from Louisville, did you make it?" I said Yes, I did..and he said "It was beautiful, I love it, thank you very much for making that for me!" and clever me, said You're welcome!

I don't UNF a lot but HOLY FRAK... UNF I agree, wholeheartedly, but is anyone else giggling at the, um, enthusiastic hand shadow that makes its appearance towards the beginning of the gif? Oh, and one Adam-bit not posted earlier from the tedder interview: Tedder: I think a concern that anybody might have with working with me after "Already Gone," "Apologize," and "Halo" is that I’m going to give them this huge sweeping ballad. Even on Adam's last album, I gave him "Sleepwalker," but I'm kind of over that. I got sick of it about a year-and-a-half ago and stopped. Hmmm. Interesting. Tedder-rock but not a huge sweeping ballad. Uptempo rock from Tedder? Color me curious.

I guess it's a good thing that he's moved up the list, but now I have to actually move my hand to vote. If this keeps up, it will involve scrolling! #lazy
