Maybe they realized the impact Adam has on TV after the PLL gig ? Hopefully more TV stuff coming And btw , just my own point of view , although I know a lot of ppl were shocked after the whole AMA's thing , THAT performance made my turning point for being a Glambert . It made me love him more . I remeber saying "WOW , THAT MAN HAS BALLS OF STEEL . HOW COULD HE DO THAT ?"   I love that performance , the only thing I don't like is that his vocals were off .

[/IMG] Or is it a matter of popularity? I mean, I read the thread about the EMA's from last year, and you were all still worried about ninja rolls and stuff, so I guess that means that he hadn't done any Awards show since the AMA's? (New fan. Bear with me. lol)
Adam has not shed the notoriety of the AMAs yet. But, in many ways, it has been re-framed. When it happened, his appearances on several shows were canceled and he was banned from the network, allegedly. The scandal made all the news outlets, with photos of "the kiss" but with their mouths blurred. (Don't know what that was supposed to accomplish.) He was the ultimate "bad boy" but not in a good way. He was a loose cannon, and couldn't be trusted not to repeat the "obscene" performance. Fast forward three years, and Adam is the edgy, out-there, bold artist who dares to be different, dares to push boundaries. He is a media magnet. Pics of "the kiss" are shown everywhere. Adam's a mentor on a kids' talent show, and a heartthrob on the most popular teen TV show. The AMAs no longer pull YTs of the performance down, but actually featured it on their site of memorable past performances. Interviewers still bring up that infamous performance, but it is mainly with the shake of a head, and a comment about how absurd the reaction to it was. Yes, there are still some folks who felt offended and betrayed by the performance and have crossed Adam off their Christmas list for good. But, in the main, I think it has been a positive defining moment for Adam. And, frankly, for equal rights. IMHO

[runs onto thread...] Hey, guys... I'm just leaving for the weekend... will be back tomorrow evening, but I wanted to ask a question re. the Divas show. I've never been to a "tribute concert", and I was wondering if the divas are restricted to ONLY the songs of Whitney and D Summer? Or, do they sing their own songs, too? Maybe the tribute songs are done as duets? Or they all do their own stuff and an occasional Whitney/Summer song is thrown in here and there? Maybe any or all of the above? :

At least that's what I read in Wikipedia

I mean, I read the thread about the EMA's from last year, and you were all still worried about ninja rolls and stuff, so I guess that means that he hadn't done any Awards show since the AMA's? (New fan. Bear with me. lol)
Adam was very lucky to get a showcase closing performance slot on two major award shows -- AMAs in 2009, and EMAs with Queen. He has also presented awards on major awards shows. So overall, he has done well. I do not think it is because of the AMAs since Adam was back on the AMAs last year as a presenter. For the AMAs I do not think it is about popularity -- I think it is about the level of commercial success. Here are the announced performers for 2012: Christina Aguilera Justin Bieber Kelly Clarkson Ke$ha Linkin Park Nicki Minaj No Doubt P!nk Pitbull Taylor Swift Carrie Underwood Usher The Wanted Everyone on the list has achieved a high level of commercially success. For the MTV VMAs, I think it is about the level of commercial success. For the Academy Awards, they book almost no music anymore but it needs to be a movie song nominee. Tonys - he needs to do NY theater, Emmys he needs be a TV star. Grammys - he needs to be nominated for a current major award OR win one + be a major star in at least one important genre. >> IMO Right now Adam's best shot of getting on a major awards show as a performer is with Queen or some other major classic rock band that needs a frontman for the night.

Noticed that VH1 has now posted that the show itself is two hours long from 6 - 8 PM pst which now makes sense since it's being aired live. Just re-watched Adam's "Hot Stuff" vid from June at Summerthing. Could totally see him doing that tune with a really funky/sexy vibe on the show. Love the part "I want to bring a wild man back home." lol.
Thanks Betty and ladyoz from last nite. It starts around 4:00.
