OK, this one truly takes the cake. Or pie, as the case may be. Keep 'em coming, chapf!

Just popping in to wish you all a happy happy Thanksgiving. I've rolled away happily from our over-laden dinner table, my turkey somehow turned out miraculously well (the ornery bird), and my husband is doing the dishes like the star that he is (just one of many many things I have to be thankful for). Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday. I'm not at all religious, so it's nice for me to celebrate something I really do believe in--good family, good food, the recognition that I am one unusually lucky ducky, and of course football (there was scant reason to celebrate that today here in Texas, but we won't go into that). A laden table surrounded by happy familiar faces is just about the best thing I can imagine. This is all to say that the US is so diverse that we have very few days where the entire country celebrates together, and this is one of them. Of course, I know a couple of people who just stay home by themselves, too (there are always a few). It would be interesting to do a study sometime on the food our diverse culture prepares for Thanksgiving dinner. It would be fascinating (to say the least!). Enjoyed your post, revlisacat, and it made me think of a story my husband (a reporter) wrote a few years back. He was working Thanksgiving day, which is always a drag not just because it's the holiday but also because that reporter always gets stuck writing the "Thanksgiving Story," and there's a limit to how many ways that can go. But that year he had a brainwave, and decided to visit a variety of recent and not-so-recent immigrants to the US to see how they celebrated. The first nice thing was that all of them did--Thanksgiving was one of the first US traditions their families adopted. But the really wonderful thing was the way they applied their various cultures to the holiday: recent Vietnamese immigrants prepared their turkey with a lemongrass rub, an Indian family used curry, I wish I could remember the other examples and I can't find the story now, but my husband said it all sounded amazing. A really wonderful take on the meaning of the holiday. (It's only too bad, needless to say, that our record with respect to the original Americans rather deteriorated (<----understatement) after that first communal meal) I hope Adam did have a wonderful meal of Peking Duck! What a lovely way to celebrate that would be.

OOOhhh... a specially dedicated chapf art piece! I'm thrilled! Went to bed before I saw it last night and what a blast to see it this morning. You've captured the cooking dynamic perfectly. My humble thanks.

Since this is yesterday's thread and all, I simply have to say this: I googled Pit Bull after his announced Divas participation and NO. Just NO!!!!
I HOPE he comes nowhere close to Adam. I like rap music, but this stuff is bad. And cheap. And vulgar:
Serbian club rap is a thousand times better, I love this stuff!!!:

My humble thanks. OOOhhh NO!!! These are not MY WORK. The "crazy kitchen" is wonderful, needs no change. The "dinner table" needs some minor touch-up and crying for a family dog. Glad you like it.
