Butterknife, Hey, bb. It's so frustrating when people write Adam off like that, isn't it? Adam is VERY underrated, and we all know it. Like the Queenbert interview said, a lot of people write him off before even giving him a chance to prove himself. It's half the Idol stigma, half the way the Rock world is with Pop artists/artists from reality shows. But when he IS given the opportunity to prove himself as a vocalist and as a performer, most people end up open-mouthed. It's very frustrating for us, who know just how talented he is, but that's the way it is.

I am not a person who wants people to like what I like. I was surprised by my irrational reaction to their judge on Adam. But I don't feel I need to say sorry to my friends either  Yeah, you are right. From the non-fans reactions now I can really see how underrated Adam is. Many of them think his music sucks. The most ridiculous part is that people think he is not a good singer. I understand if people don't like the tone of his voice and in fact the CD track and all YT vids just don't do his voice justice. Still, Well, you don't hear what I hear. That's it. ETA, I actually never understood that idol stigma. Isn't it that on idol people actually got to see how great Adam was as a performer and a singer? People are so funny. |

I have been trying to vote on Pop Crush Album being careful to wait at least an hour between tries, and it hasn't let me vote since early this morning. Anyone else having any trouble? I wonder if it would help to clear my cookies. I am a little afraid to do that because I have a slight case of tech phobia. Would I loose all my passwords?

butterknife, that exact same thing happened to me recently too. It was very upsetting and more or less ended a new friendship.  I was treated with total disrespect. I am sorry that happened to you too.

It's indeed ridiculous when people say Adam isn't a good singer. If there's something that can't be said about Adam is that he's a bad singer. That's just plain stupid and shows either lack of musical knowledge or great laziness because they didn't even bother to listen to him. And you know what? A lot of it is just prejudice. Why? Because he broke into the business through a reality show. Many music snobs think that's cheating your way into the Industry. They think that if you're any good you'll make it on your own. They think that only karaoke singers go to Idol/X Factor/The Voice. And sometimes it's true... but not always. It's ignorant, and it's self-righteous, but that's the way a lot of people seem to think. And that's exactly the Idol stigma: "We can't take him seriously, he comes from a reality show." "People were interested in him when he was on the show, but now they're interested in the current Idols, so why should we play his music?" In the Rock world it's exactly the same, and I say it as a rocker myself: "He didn't pay his dues, he just auditioned and was instantly famous, he didn't have to work for it." "He's just a karaoke singer, they don't know how to make their own music, they just mimic other artists." "He sings Pop? Then he uses Autotune, and he never sings live, and he doesn't write his own songs." "He doesn't know how to play an instrument? I seriously don't like Maria Callas voice. I've' listened to her recordings and I don't know why but her voice just irritate me to no end. But I will never say that she is bad or overrated singer. I'm not an expert like cassie is but I know thing or two about good voice and when someone is saying that Adam is not good singer, I know what to think about that kind of people. Friend or not - this is just blatant bias IMHO. You can say you don't like someone's voice, It's ok, but a good voice is a good voice - there is no way around it.
