Does anyone know if it is usual for the host of Divas to so pointedly thank the band? Adam did so twice, I think. I remember on Idol that Rickey Minor said that Adam was the only contestant ever to thank him....(I think that's right). Was Adam returning the favour of Rickey's unflagging support by doing this? Seems like something he would do - he never forgets others. Michael Orland made that comment, not Ricky. Actually, Rickey Minor did praise Adam for thanking the band, as well as being great to work with each week. Rickey's comments are below; it's an Examiner article, but the author is quoting an interview that Rickey did with the LA Times (which I can't find right now): " Minor says of working with the two former American Idol contestants: "Carrie Underwood and Adam Lambert. Carrie, because she had never done anything and it was a total trust factor. She’d always lean into me and say, “Is this what I should do? OK, thank you, I'll do it.” So there was never any push back. Even now, there’s still such a level of comfort and respect. And Adam, in the same way, was always gracious, and thanking the band. He and Carrie were of the few that thanked the band. She was so green, but Adam came from theater, from music and recordings, so he knew what his direction was. He and I had probably the most e-mail and phone traffic of all the contestants."www.examiner.com/article/american-idol-rickey-minor-leaves-show-talks-working-with-adam-lambert-carrie-underwoodETA: Another quote from Rickey re: working with Adam on Idol: "In the Top 10, they all get my e-mail and phone number so that they can get the chance to communicate me. It’s important that I be accessible, not just when they see me at rehearsal. It’s part of the job because there’s a commitment to excellence, which can’t be achieved if I’m incommunicado. So Adam would always have ideas floating in his head. We'd try stuff and I would even do a mock up of it and send it to him. We'd go back and forth until the minute we get to rehearsal on Monday and it’s a lock -- we know what we're doing. So he was proactive and I enjoyed that."

Have you seen this yet? confesslee.blogspot.fi/2012/12/adam-lambert-covers-fiasco-magazine.html Glam Rocker Adam Lambert gives us Anderson-Cooper-sliver-fox-regal-realness IN the British glossy mag Fiasco Magazine for their 'Obsession' Issue.
He looks so different here but good different like beautiful!!!. Quite the change from his looks during Last Sunday's (Dec. 16th) Vh1 Divas which putting it nicely was a complete and utter mess but Adam did do a nice job hosting the trainwreck mess along (and out sung most of them so-called "Divas"). Interview excerpts: On coming from a TV talent show: "It's interesting, because you get all this hype and celebrity and it's of the moment. But as far as being an artist, that's not really explored until you put out your own original material." On singing with Queen: 'Those shows I did with Queen were pretty surreal. I was really excited and super-flattered, but intimidated at the same time. How do you live up to someone like Freddie Mercury? There was no way I could ever compete with him. I had to let that go and create an experience of paying tribute." On keeping up appearances: "The way I look at it, there's just as much pressure [on men], but men aren't supposed to talk about it. It's supposed to seem easy, but men, especially in the public eye, are just as worried as women are." On being a posterboy for the LGBT community: "For the general audience, they look at the way I style myself and they go, 'Errrr, that's gay,' but you ask a handful of gay guys and they're like, 'I would never wear that!'"

Very odd that the source was not mentioned. However, I love the Fiasco pics and the play with light and shadow in them, it is nice to see them again. Hmm, another thought. Maybe the earlier article was already quoting Fiasco. There was supposed to be an interview too and I was thinking that we haven't seen the text - at least I don't remember. Please post the link again if someone has it.

Please post the link again if someone has it. Yes, these are all quotes from the Fiasco interview -- I bought the e-version of the Fiasco issue with Adam. I wish the author of the original article had included more complete quotes. This is Adam's entire comment about his style; it's about much more than the quote implies: “I think regardless of my sexuality, I would be a tough sell to certain people. I’m not ordinary looking. No matter what your sexuality it’s always going to confuse people. I think there is a hardcore double standard – women have a lot of freedom in the way they style and express themselves and their viewpoint but it’s a narrower acceptable spectrum for men. For a general audience, they look at the way I style myself and they go, ‘errr, that’s gay’, but you ask a handful of gay guys and they’re like, ‘I would never wear that’. The flamboyance isn’t necessarily gay, it’s just flamboyant. If you look back at the 70s and 80s, we had a lot of male artists who were glammed up and a lot of them were straight.”Quote: Fiasco magazine You have to buy the magazine to read the article -- it's not posted online, as far as I can tell. I received the magazine as a very large PDF file. If I can figure out a way to extract the interview, I will share it.

I don't think this link has been posted. LAMBERTLUST @lambertlust Video bout 19 minutes long! All Adam Lambert parts from Divas compiled in one vid! vimeo.com/55907941 Thanks for the link. I wanted to only watch BB's portion after I watched the whole show few days ago. I wanted to say that if I was a casual fan watching this Diva show, I wouldn't think that BB was gay...I believe his melvin jr makes him look more masculine than ever. Of course I would think people tuning in to watch vh1 Divas are also aware of who Adam Lambert is and that he is gay. Still...just as a casual watcher, I really don't see him (esp with his 'tache & goatee) as gay; in fact watching just now makes me feel like I want to "jump" him (oh god, he is so highly attractive) -- but then BB is just one gorgeous male species!!! : : My brother who was gay had a 'tache & goatee'. I am sure plenty of people know gay people who come in all shapes / sizes / with or without facial hair. In 2012, most of the audience who will have been watching this will not have given it any thought, totally a non-issue for the age demographic

I suppose it's that he made such a point of specifically thanking Rickey Minor after the Funky Music performance that I thought it must have been from him.... Anyway - I think that Adam would have made sure the Divas band was thanked, whether originally scripted or not. ETA: IRIDIUM - Have just seen your very full reply on page 5. Thank you very much - I thought I remembered him saying that.
