As I remember, GNT grossed 6 million. Well below the top 10 in the link you posted. I remember that but that was 2010. the cost of Adam tickets for GNT was below reasonable. I don't know what Madonna tickets averaged but they started at about 45 and went to 355 aprox. and of course the venues were larger. I don't know how Adam has been paid. I would assume part ticket sales and part artist fees. What he made from Queen or from Hennessy? Just curious as I assume most of the concerts he is doing now is cash flow for him especially since it sounds as if he will not be touring in 2013. Add in also his TV appearances, magazine photo/stories that may or may not pay that much but still improves his "brand" According to this site, and I have no idea of its validity Adam makes 6M a year www.paywizard.org/main/VIPPaycheck/male-musicians-salariesI still have hopes for some dates in the US or I may seriously have to think about rehap. The numbers on the paywizard web site are very likely very inaccurate - based on whatever unverified web article they can find, maybe or maybe not adjusted for net versus gross. For Adam, they probably used the reports about 6 million grossed by GNT. Out of this 6 million, Adam had to pay his band, dancers, crew, manager, and whomever else gets a cut. So Adam likely actually netted a whole lot less than 6 million from GNT. Even adding up likely income from everything Adam did this year. I would estimate that Adam's net income this year, after paying everyone else, would be in the very low millions.

Oh, we are such greedy fans for our BB, aren't we? Let's just say, for the sake of discussion, that Adam's net income is 2 million this year. As a teacher, do you know how long it would take me to earn a net of 2 million? More than the entirety of my working years! If we conservatively say that Adam earned the same 2 million in 2011 and 2010, and maybe with his record advance and Idol income, half a million in 2009, we are talking 6.5 million. How many millions does one need to be secure and comfortable today? $500,000 per year would seem very comfortable to me, and would last Adam for 13 years not counting interest and investments, even if he did not earn another penny for the rest of his working life. I want Adam to have every kind of success, recognition, appreciation, opportunity and accolades. He deserves it. But, I have to say, BB is doing VERY WELL so far, and I am not going to worry about whether he can pay the bills, buy dimmers, and afford another pair of boots.

Wish I made that kind of money & had that kind of money in the bank! I think that what is driving the concerns of many of the fans is that Adam is not on the same sales, and thus earnings, level as other artists who don't have near the vocal talent that he does. But on the other hand, Adam is make far more than many artists who are struggling at barely liveable incomes but deserve much more.

gelly @14gelly Female First UK Best Albums Of 2012 : #8 @adamlambert 's Trespassing "An outstanding pop-rock album " www.femalefirst.co.uk/music/features/Best+Albums+2012-270439.html8) Adam Lambert - Trespassing While traditional pop may not have turned out too many barnstormers this year, Adam Lambert’s second album is a massive statement from the American Idol runner up, with Trespassing being an absolute barnstorming effort. Thankfully throwing off the shackles of the pop ballad that held him back on his debut, Trespassing lets Lambert fully embrace himself as artist letting the guitars and eyeliner fully spread their wings. The album might have made the headlines by being the first album by an openly gay singer to top the Billboard 200 in America, but Trespassing should be on more people’s radar’s for purely musical reasons. An outstanding pop-rock album that revels in what it is and deserves to put Lambert in the upper echelons of the genre. more...

Thanks for the welcome I cannot understand why Adam don't get the recognition in the USA. The world however do appreciate him very much, thank you! (I'm from South Africa). I wonder if doing a tour through the USA will make a difference? I know homophobia is a problem, but in my experience exposure and getting to know that person changes things, sometimes quite dramatically. I also think Adam must get music videos out of his slower songs like Running or Nirvana. I cannot understand how Map, By the Rules and Hold on didn't make it to his album. Especially Map so many people can relate to and is a really good love song. I have to say Tresspassing is the first album of any artist I want to listen every song without skipping one ... and its not because of who the artist is, it's the incredible song collection

But on the other hand, Adam is make far more than many artists who are struggling at barely liveable incomes but deserve much more. Exactly. If income was equated to talent in the music business, Adam would be the highest paid singer in the industry! And if income was tied to the importance and value to the human community of the work done, teachers, medical personnel, fire fighters, police officers, and folks in the mental health field would be earning what football and basketball players do each year. I have often commented on how many incredibly talented artists I have known personally over the years who have not been able to ever earn a living wage with their art. Who pay for the mortgage, the electric bill and the kids' clothes by working as teachers, waiters, insurance sales people, and janitors. Adam has gotten great praise and affirmation for his Trespassing album this year. He has also gotten great mentions about his TV appearances, his fashion, and his position as an important role model. As an artist, if he had to chose between recognition for an excellent creative work or huge bucks for crap, I am confident he would choose the former over the latter.

[/IMG] I understood her, too, I think. Something to do with getting sloshed, right? Now, about tickling your funny bone - never heard that one. Is it a bit naughty as well as being funny, or just funny? The expression, I mean, not the 'bone'.
Well Aleks, honey, I haven't been around Atop long enough to figure out all these techie things yet...gotta give a girl a break.. By golly, sloshed is what I got Lilly had in mind..hey, Lilly? Are we close??? ;D Now I see how your mind works...uh huh...bone...naughty. Funny bone...naughty while giggling??? Not the bone...uh huh. I wasn't born yesterday..(isn't THAT the truth..). I want to hear your theories on this saying. Yes, I do, I do...ball is in your court, so to speak.
Ain't that the truth :4OMG: :4OMG: :4OMG: You totally used and abused my tipsiness from last night, stabbing me in the back with these posts, even though you knew very well that I was conking out as we spoke. Allow me to retort: ~I have never heard of the expression 'to tickle one's funny bone'. In spite of the fact, its meaning was clear as day when I saw it. ~As usual, I decided to play dumb, or pull 'the foreigner' card, so as to sneak in a couple of lewd comments and jokes. ~That's what I normally do after having had a drink or two, get all naughty and lascivious. Sorry 'bout that. ~But you do love playing with me, don't you Tsk-tsk, Viv, what am I going to do with you... Squish you boneless, that's what!!!
