Today will be a little quieter for me. Had our family get together last night. It was so special with my kids and grandchildren. Today my mom and I will have a nice Christmas dinner together and I will say a prayer of thanks for having her with me as I almost lost her this year. She pulled through and I am so grateful!

American Idol star to perform in HCMC

American Idol 2009 first runner-up Adam Lambert will visit Vietnam for a concert in Ho Chi Minh City next month.

On December 20, the H-Artistry annual show announced on its Facebook page in Vietnam the list of international artists who will join its 2013 tour, starting from Vietnam in January. The news has excited many local people who idolize the 30-year-old singer from the US.

Adam Lambert was born in Indianapolis but raised in San Diego. He began performing in amateur theatrical productions as a child, a path he pursued into adulthood, appearing in professional productions in the US and abroad.

Lambert became prominent after appearing on the 8th season of American Idol in 2009. Also that year, he released his debut album “For Your Entertainment,” which ranked number three on the Billboard 200, selling 198,000 copies in the US in its first week and reaching the top 10 in several countries worldwide. Its singles, "For Your Entertainment," "Whataya Want from Me" and "If I Had You" also became successes internationally.

His second album “Trespassing,” released on May 15, 2012, made its debut at the number one spot on the Billboard 200 album chart, also topping the Billboard Digital Albums Chart and Canada's Digital Albums Chart.

According to H-Artistry, renowned Portuguese soul singer Aurea and K-pop star NS Yoon G will also share the stage.

The show will take place at HCMC Nguyen Du Stadium in District 1 on January 4, 2013. Tickets for the show will not be sold. Fans can access www.facebook.com/hennessyartistry.vn to play games and win tickets.

Earlier, H-Artistry also brought many international stars to Vietnam, including David Cook, Brian McFadden, Lenka, Boys Like Girls, Alexandre Burke and Monica.
