I actually registered on this site and read some of the casting comments. Several people recommended Adam for Judas. Maybe we can add to them. He would be a much better Jesus than Judas. Judas is better played by a baritone imo. Jesus is for a tenor with crazy high notes! For anyone who hasn't heard it imagine Adam belting this out ;D Holy crap, nationalglampoon!!  I used to listen to a different version of Balsamo's "Gethsemane" (a live, TV version), but have never heard this one. It's INSANE!!! I've seen Ted Neeley perform JCS a few times but never Balsamo. WOW!! |

Stampsgal those NYE Upright vids are full of win. Oh yes have all of thenm ear marked in my files!!  Actually take a new look at the vid I posted...it is not from New Year's Eve but a birthday bash for Upright Cabaret. They threw shoes for his singing even though he did not know he was going to be singing at this event...so had not brushed up on the song. In his usual style he sings out the words at 1:00... about not learning the words before singing it.
Ad libbing and singing away without missing a beat...a true performer!! |

Coming out of lurkdom to say CAN YOU IMAGINE THE SHITSTORM IF THE REMAKE OF THIS MOVIE CASTED A GAY MAN AS JESUS?!?! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAH Omg. I would die loling. It would be amazing. I'd actually forgo the dream of him doing Judas' role for the UTTER MINDFUCK this would produce. And then when the film came out some actor would say his singing was amazing but the acting was lacking and IT WOULD BE A FULL CIRCLE MOMENT!! Bwah. Oh anyways happy new years! |
