Why is Adam so polarizing? People posting the negative comments seem to be spending a lot of time and energy criticizing the opinions of someone they claim is "irrelevant." If they really didn't care, you'd think they'd just shrug and move on to the next media-manufactured controversy.
I'll never understand why some people enjoy squandering so much of their time on this earth spewing forth hate. I used to wonder about this and try to respond. Then I realized that the best response was to ignore these people. If someone has decided that they do not like Adam or approve of him because he is gay, an online comment is not going to change their mind. Once people form an opinion, it is hard to change. The longer they hold that opinion, the harder it is for it to change. Adam could donate $5,000,000 to Hurricane Sandy relief and there would be negative comments about it because it came from Adam. Just the way it is. But many celebrity performers are fascinating/polarizing and they are the people who become icons. A mixed blessing but a blessing. |

I like a lot of different music, including musical, opera, rock, folk..... I was searching youtube for good tenor voices about 7 months ago and well I HEARD ADAM Since then i am hooked, looked for everything about him and was here a lot of times as guest viewer and finally decided to become a member. I used to read the comments on these sites and would get really stressed. I have FINALLY, after nearly 4 years, learned to ignore comment sections. And yes, even 4 years ago when Adam was on Idol the comments could get really ugly. Anonymity brings out the worst in people and Adam will probably always be a target because he's unique and pretty damn honest. And gay of course. : BUT - things are going splendidly for him right now so that stuff means nothing. He has never looked happier to me!  |
