Why is Adam so polarizing? People posting the negative comments seem to be spending a lot of time and energy criticizing the opinions of someone they claim is "irrelevant." If they really didn't care, you'd think they'd just shrug and move on to the next media-manufactured controversy.
I'll never understand why some people enjoy squandering so much of their time on this earth spewing forth hate. I used to wonder about this and try to respond. Then I realized that the best response was to ignore these people. If someone has decided that they do not like Adam or approve of him because he is gay, an online comment is not going to change their mind. Once people form an opinion, it is hard to change. The longer they hold that opinion, the harder it is for it to change. Adam could donate $5,000,000 to Hurricane Sandy relief and there would be negative comments about it because it came from Adam. Just the way it is. But many celebrity performers are fascinating/polarizing and they are the people who become icons. A mixed blessing but a blessing.I always try to remember this when I see and hear awful comments about Adam. I truly believe the best way to handle ignorant people like this is to ignore them. I really had no idea Adam's movie opinions carried so much weight! I can honestly say now Adam is a superstar! WOW! 8-) |

I'll never understand why some people enjoy squandering so much of their time on this earth spewing forth hate. This has been a mystery to me and to most rational people forever! I used to read the comments on these sites and would get really stressed. I have FINALLY, after nearly 4 years, learned to ignore comment sections. And yes, even 4 years ago when Adam was on Idol the comments could get really ugly. Anonymity brings out the worst in people and Adam will probably always be a target because he's unique and pretty damn honest. And gay of course. :  BUT - things are going splendidly for him right now so that stuff means nothing. He has never looked happier to me! Ignoring comment sections is something I learnt after the Queenbert concerts in London. I was so thrilled, so full of wonderful and "clean" emotions and I had the feeling that I HAD TO share these feelings with other people because otherwise I would burst... And then I got the cold shower while reading Queen-fansections. I couldn't believe that something that was so extraordinary beautiful and out of this world for me - seemed to be rubbish for others. And not just that they didn't like it, it felt like they had the most fun when spewing hatred like poison on Adam. This really broke my heart  :-/ But the lesson learnt was that I had to trust my feelings and my instincts. 99,9% of these people weren't there, hadn't seen what I had seen, hadn't heard what I had heard - so they knew absolutely NOTHING! Reading these disgusting comments only made me sick and none of my attempts to change their minds was successfull - so I'll just let it be. Since that decision I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Adam is wonderful in so many ways - and if others don't see it, it's not my problem, it's theirs! |

I feel with you, Augenpoesie A good Friend of mine, Queenfan like me, said things about Adam that i can not even repeat, a lot of anti-gay slurs were among them, but other things too. When i reminded him that Freddie were gay too, he got even more crazy, and said that whole band should have died, so they could be remembered as legends and never did anything new. Well, he is now a FORMER good Friend, crazy but luckily unimportant. Maybe, i should tweet Adam to lend me his Cuckoo jacket  |
